Fun Times...part 2

We went to Lewes, DE to enjoy a week at the beach.

Monday afternoon was to be rainy so Ellen and I headed to the outlets for some shopping.

LOTS of other people thought it was a good ideas too.

First stop was to Sketchers for new sneakers for Ellen.

She wears two different sizes and usually hard to find anything

that fits with her insets.

Would you believe she loved the first

and only shoes she tried on

and we bought them!!

Plus the sale was so good that it was less than $60 for both pairs.

It's been a long time since that happened.

Did a bit more shopping till the heavens opened up

and rain dumped so hard it was hard to see!

While shopping in the last store it stopped,

picked up a late lunch at Chickfila to take back with us.

That evening we walked across the bridge into Lewes.

Such a pretty town!

Wonderful paths along the canal.
Was nice to see up close what we usually are looking at from
from the balcony on the other side of the canal.

That's where we were staying.
They did a whole exterior renovation which was needed.
It looks so nice!

Talked to Corey that evening.

He was in ICU for observation.

Had some tests that day and waiting for more.

He said his bed was comfortable, was in a room by himself

and he wasn't complaining.

Was so good to hear from him.

Family helped with kids and kid transportation needs

and meal prep.

Soooo thankful!!

Tuesday was a beach day.

Was a beautiful day, not too hot, a nice breeze.

Totally enjoyable.

Wasn't full either!

Ate at our favorite
Bethany Blues (always!)
then to the boardwalk and ice cream for Ellen.
She has ice cream every day at the beach!

Back home it was the first day of school for the kids.

Friends and family helped with transportation and they had a good day!

Wednesday we decided to take a lighthouse tour

with Cape Water Tours.

Some tours leave from a dock on the same street where we were staying

but this one was leaving from the ferry location.

Thought this was our boat but no, it was a whale and dolphin watching tour.
Ellen thought that would be fun too.
Maybe another time!

We really enjoyed learning the history of this little lighthouse
and the ride to it.

Selfie from the top!
Had to climb a little ladder to get there,
not my favorite thing to do.

That evening we walked to the beach to see the sun set.
Just beautiful!

Of course Ellen needed ice cream from Dairy Queen too =)

Our balcony view!

See why we love this little condo?

Back home Aidan took the bus that morning...
had to leave the house around 6:30ish to walk to the end of our street!

And Noah took the bus for the first time
all by himself!
And loved it!

Zoe took it home some days but prefers a car ride instead.

Corey was able to come home that day!!!
What a relief and answer to prayer.
Medication adjustments were made
and tests results indicated he was good to rest at home.

Thursday morning we needed to get an early start...
even on vacation you need to do that sometimes!

Will tell you about it next time!

So glad to hear that Corey is home!
Your vacation looks wonderful and the pics are so pretty. That sunset was amazing!
Our Heather has long skinny feet and shoe shopping for her was always so hard, but you have me beat with Ellen. It's not cheap having to always buy 2 pairs of shoes. Glad you found some she liked and on sale too!

What a wonderful trip! I enjoy seeing all of the sights you all see on your vacation. I will have to read back what is going on with Corey. Hope all is well with him now. Have a blessed day dear friend, HUGS!

What a wonderful time the 3 of you enjoyed at Lewes! We are definitely in agreement with Ellen in that ice cream should be enjoyed every day while on vacation! I am with you, Doris, in that I would not have enjoyed climbing a small ladder to the top of the lighthouse and avoided doing that when at the Portsmouth Lighthouse a couple weeks ago, but Patrick did climb up! Glad to read that things are better for Corey and that he is back home.

Looks like a great time was enjoyed by everyone, Doris. It’s always nice to find a pair of shoes and more easily. We are with Ellen in that ice cream should be enjoyed often while on vacation.
