Recent Events

It's been pretty much the same with the weather.

Snow, cold, ice, a sunny day once in awhile.

WAY colder and snowy than last winter!

Saturday was sunny but cold...

Loving the sunbeam coming through the window.

I aught to put the snowflakes away

(they have been up way longer that any other year!)

but it keeps snowing sooo

there they are ☺

(our Christmas lights are still up

and lit every night too....

and so are some of the neighbors!!

Told Dale that March 1 is the cut off date ☺)

We had an icy day on Thursday last week.

Pretty to look at!

We had more snow again today
but it is to warm up this week so it should disappear.

I'm ok with that!

A few fun events for Ellen recently....

 Night to Shine

She has enjoyed this event the last several years.
Of course because of Covid
it had to be held differently this year.

It was a virtual event.
At first that sounded so weird.
But being Ellen, she was not about missing it
no matter what!

Our local planners did a really good job to make
different
still be very special!!

Thursday, February 11
Participants were invited to a Shine Through.
It was held at a local large church with massive parking lots.
Perfect!

Lots and lots of cars in line...
it took around 2 hours to get through all of it!

Registration point was the first stop.
She received a Night to Shine bag
to hold all the goodies.

Let the fun begin!

Lots of fun characters along the way!

The last stop included FOOD for the next evening.
They gave enough for more than one meal...
a jar of pasta sauce
box of spaghetti
box of garlic bread
3 cans of veggies
bag of caesar salad
plus
a cup of applesauce
a small bottle of sparkling cider
a cup of ice cream and extras for it
a complete beautiful place setting!!

Friday, February 12
Night to Shine!

She decided to make a fun sundae with the ice cream and toppings...

Of course she had to save some M&M's to enjoy too!

Ellen helped make the spaghetti...
she loves it and it didn't bother her that we had it the night before too!
(not knowing it would be her Night to Shine meal)

I pulled out my desk to make a table for her to eat at....

After dinner the event was on!

As unusual as it could be for this event to be virtual,
she still really enjoyed it.

Of course everyone is hoping that next year
will be an IN PERSON event!!

Last Tuesday ( Feb. 16) evening we took Ellen to Manor church
to pick up her bag of valentine's
from the Journey's ministry.

She was SOOO excited to get them!
Was so hard to wait an extra day because of snow.

She had fun decorating some for this activity too.

We decorated about 30 valentines.
Zoe and I helped too.

Saturday, February 13
(I am all over the place with this post!!)
Greta and Lynn and the boys stopped in.

How awesome to see them!
It was cold but we survived the outdoor visit ☺

The boys had some valentines for us...
and I had some for them too! ♥

One more picture then I must wrap this up...

Today's snow.....
at least the kids are enjoying it!

Take care, stay well!

I always reading your blog and know what is going on in your house and beyond. Looks like last week was no exception. Stay warm and safe.

No ice here, but lots of snow and cold!
It looks like the Night to Shine was so much fun! I'm glad Ellen was able to enjoy it, even virtually.

Ice and snow... Brrrr... but absolutely gorgeous
So good to see Ellen enjoying the Night to Shine. Its been so hard on young people recently... but here's hoping she can go to the next one in person.

No new snow for us, but enjoyed seeing yours, Doris. Glad that Ellen's Night to Shine event turned out to be a fun, even if different, event this year. It looks like she enjoyed herself.
