Crazy Week #2

Last week was crazy busy and I thought it was going to be less crazy this week, I was wrong. It's Friday already and I have some catching up to do!

I will get to some fun things we did over the Holiday weekend but first....

My mouth started to hurt a little bit on Monday. By Tuesday it was getting significantly worse. I called the dentist to get an appointment. I could go Thursday afternoon or Monday morning. Didn't think I could wait till Monday but Thursday is my kids day, not something I like to mess with. I had to take the Thursday appointment. Thankfully Christy's mom came to our rescue and provided the transportation she and Aidan needed to an appointment then take Christy to work and keep Noah through the afternoon. Ellen had an appointment that morning too.

Wednesday was a day of go and come back and go and pick up and come back and go again....and again! Some days are like that ☺

I was living on round the clock  pain meds for the tooth pain. I never take pain medication but it was the only way I could stand it. The offensive tooth was discovered, not the one I thought it was. It was on the top not the bottom but the pain was radiating around to the bottom. I need to see a specialist to get it fixed up and I'm on an antibiotic for the infection. Four of those buggers down the hatch and I'm still feeling pain this morning!! The pain is mostly on the top so maybe it's getting better? I don't know....but I really would like to drink my coffee HOT again! Don't care for lukewarm stuff....but iced  is out of the question too. Guess I need some patience ;-)

Now to the fun....

Saturday evening we celebrated grandson Carson's fifth birthday. Hard to believe he is 5!
The theme for his party
(chosen by Carson)
was Construction!

My daughter should be a party planner...
she does an amazing job.

Look at this cake!
She made it and decorated it.

We had a delicious meal of grilled burgers and hot dogs.

Cousins and best friends.

Guy chats in the kitchen!

Time for cake and ice cream!

We sing and Carson covers his ears ☺

Creative cake even on the inside!

Looks like a fun time to come!

This kid loves trucks and tractors....
he will love this!

Zoe wrapped this gift all by herself. Did a really good job!

He thought these books were really cool.

Aunt Kimmy got Toby a gift too....
she's such a good aunt!

Carson loves books!

Leggos!

We got him a few things too....

Some activity books and stickers.

Two books,
because Nana loves to look for kids books
and this kid loves books!

He saw Paw Patrol!
He loves Paw Patrol!

A big towel for this
Paw Patrol lover!

All too soon it was time to clean up and
put the chairs back in place for church the next day.

But first I needed a picture of this big guy....

This is my 2nd oldest Grand, Andrew,
with his beautiful mama, Kim,
my firstborn.

When I say big guy, I mean it!
He is so tall!!
(his mama is shorter than me and I'm a shortie!)
And handsome, oh my.

Thank you, Carson, for inviting us to your party.
We know you will
LOVE
being 5!

On Sunday afternoon a few of us went to wish my step mother
an early Happy Birthday.

She will be 92 tomorrow!

She is amazing!!
And we love her so much.

Corey and Christy and the kiddos went along with us.
Looks like someone is enjoying the treats!

Mary Ellen brought the cake,
Dick and Nancy the ice cream
and we brought the chips.

Then Noah worked it off ☺

We went back to Mary's room....
and the first thing we saw was her chair....
it didn't look like that the last time I was there!

As I said, she is amazing.
And extremely creative.

To brighten up her cozy room
she used towels to make a cover for her chair!

It may have involved the chair being turned over
in order to hand stitch it to the chair.
But I won't say for sure ;-)

It looks amazing!

What a nice time we had!
Happy Birthday, dear Mary!

We all piled into our van,
all eight of us,
and headed back to Lancaster....
whenever we travel together we end up having a belly laugh
or three.
I laughed till I hurt ☺
We have lived together for 6 years now and it's still working.
Love them!

On Monday,
the holiday,
I took two Grands and Ellen
to see Aladdin at the discount theater
then to eat afterwards.

At first it was going to be me and Zoe.
Then Ellen said she'd go.
Then Aidan decided to go after all...
he didn't think we would like the movie
but eating out after got him interested!

We loved the movie!
Aidan loved it too =)

Will Smith was so funny.

Zoe chose Fuddruckers as the place to eat.

We enjoyed our meals.

And Ellen enjoyed a milkshake with hers
as did Aidan.

It was another good day!

This post is long and too full of pictures
and I apologize.
I did make some collages but they would not load
and I gave up.
No patience for those shenanigans today!

One more then I'll stop ☺

Wednesday morning I looked out
and knew I had to capture this.
Oh, what a beautiful morning!

That's it for today.

It is now afternoon and I'm feeling a bit better,
I think.
I'm still hurting but maybe a little less.
Hoping and praying it's less and less as the hours go by.

God Bless your weekend!

Doris, I'm so sorry about your tooth pain. God bless you.
Hard to believe Carson is 5. His cake and the decorations are so cute. How fun for you to be able to choose books for his special day. I hope you will write a note in the front of books and sign your name. It is nice to see Kim and Andrew. Happy Birthday to Mary! Looks like you all had so much fun and I love the cover for her recliner. Your pics of movie night and dinner out are just great - so much fun. Sending my love and wishes for you to get that tooth taken care of soon. xo

I think you may be related to Jean Stauffer! I always marvel at her busy life, and you are the same. :)
Happy Birthday to Grandma Mary. She is amazing, sweet and I know I would love her.
Looks like the party was a big hit! Your Andrew is very handsome, and tall too!
So sorry about the tooth. I've had an abscess before and I remember how consuming that pain is. Hope it feels better quickly!

Praying your tooth pain goes away soon....nothing worse, makes you hurt all over. As for all the pictures, I always enjoy seeing your pictures and family.

Doris- How awful that you had such a bad toothache. It always amazes me that you can feel the 'pain' in one tooth and it is really in another one.

Love all the family pictures. Happy birthday to your little 5 year old. He is darling!

Happy week! xo Diana

Doris, I'm so sorry I did not read this until now and had no idea about your tooth pain. UGH!!!! I do hope the antibiotic is working even better by now. I've had far too much experience with tooth pain.

I just loved every picture! Never apologize for them!

Just catching up on blog reading, Doris, and sorry to learn about your tooth ache. Ironically, I went to the oral surgeon last week for an extraction and will face more dental appts in the future. Hope your dental appt goes/went well. Lots of birthday celebrations and family times for all of you...what fun!
