A Full Week

Ever since we came home from the beach a week ago we have been going full speed!

Ellen had a special 30th anniversary Challenger Baseball game at Clipper Stadium last Sunday. Dale's brother from Maine has been here this week. His siblings have been together several evenings. And two of the grands had day camp. Corey decided to take several days of vacation so that cut out some planned transportation trips for me.....that worked in my favor! Last evening Ellen and I went to Fulton Opera House in Lancaster to see Mama Mia. Today we had a picnic with Dale's cousins. Tomorrow is Ellen's last baseball game and a picnic and swimming party afterwards.

Last Sunday.....

What a privilege to play in this big ballpark!

The Fahnestock cheering section ☺

Sweet Cambrie!
(who is never still!)

Ellen runs to home plate.

The team!

It was really hot and the kids, especially, were hungry.
It was decided to head to our house
for an impromptu meal....
Pizza, chicken, fruit and more from Costco
and later
ice cream!

It was a really good day.
So nice that Gina could be with us too.

Monday.....

I had been looking for a new chair for the porch.
On Sunday Corey and Christy sent me a text and pic
from Costco of a chair there.
I said to get it.

Oh boy, I'm not the only one who likes it!!

Tuesday....

Ellen does some activities with Schreiber Pediatrics Club 625
for special needs young people.
Actually I'm not sure if there is an age limit
but many of her friends from school, baseball, football/cheering
also participate.

Tuesday evening it was back to the Clipper Stadium
for a Barnstormers game.

Getting ready to go in.

She loves the Barnstormers!

Enthusiastic fans!

I love a pretty sky!

Wednesday....

I gave the porch a good
long overdue cleaning!

I always do it way earlier than the end of June.
Not sure what happened this year....
I couldn't stand the dirt any longer!

Much better, so much better.

That night we had dinner with Dale's siblings at his sister Nancy's house.

Thursday....
I don't remember if there was anything special about that day
other than eating dinner out with Dale's siblings.
That was so nice!

Friday.....

I went to Target to pick up an order
And of course I found a few more things to add to the cart ☺

Have you ever had this popcorn?
Christy loves it....
sometimes at Costco they have huge bags of it.
Sometimes.

I found these smaller bags at Target.
Got two!

Ellen and I ready for our evening at the Fulton.

Our beautiful girls!

We all arrived to the very crowded downtown....
it was Celebrate Lancaster too.
Food trucks, entertainment (I think),
closed streets....
whew!

The stage.
Love this historic theater!

The mamas.

The girls.

Let the fun begin!

We love Mama Mia.
Love the music so much!

Today was the picnic and I didn't take any pictures!
It was held on the farm where Dale grew up....
and many of the cousins remember
lots of family gatherings there when younger.
It was hot
but a big tree and a breeze kept things from being miserable.

It was a good day!

Tomorrow is another busy day.
Although the annual concert and fireworks display
is happening at Long's Park,
it's being skipped by our family this year.

We decided that it was not possible with everything else happening.
Feels sad but it's ok.

Can you believe that July is just around the corner???
Summer, please slow down!

God bless your Saturday evening!

Hi Doris, What a fun and full week! Your grandchildren are so sweet. I can't get over how Cambrie is growing! Ellen looks so beautiful dressed for the theater. I love the photo of you together. Wishing you a good night's rest. xoxo

I always read all of your adventures but don’t always comment. However, I must say that I love Mama Mia! I saw it when it opened in Chicago and followed it to Broadway, then back to Chicago. I’ve also seen both movies!

Best,
Bonnie

But....but....but....Doris! What are you doing in all your spare time? LOL Isn't it funny how busy our lives get even as we age? I always thought that by this time of year our lives would have slowed down a whole lot. Guess I was wrong.

Glad you are busy but enjoying it all. xo Diana

Wow Doris just catching up on your week full of family and fun made me exhausted! We are finally just back from our extended road trip and while being away was so nice, being home is wonderful too. I still have a few more travel posts to do and then family stuff later this month, including granddaughter Ellie's 8th birthday (already).
