Sunday, June 30

Sunday -

I was exhausted and we didn't go to church.
We rarely miss.

But taking the morning slow
and sitting on my porch
was what my soul needed.

I could have stayed right there for the rest of the day.

But,

* needed lunch
* had a baseball game to get to
* had a picnic and pool party to attend
* and one young lady wanted to see some fireworks

Let the day begin ☺

Suddenly the day got in high gear....
it was after 12 but begin it did.

Plans for Noah changed.
They needed a babysitter.
He could come with us.

We needed lunch before the game
so off to Manheim we went
(after I showered and got fixed up ☺)

They were already finished with lunch at
Manheim Twin Kiss,
that's where we were going too.

They waited.
We got two boys instead of one!
(the older one decided to go with us too)

They shared a cone while waiting for us to eat our lunch.

To the game we went!

Brothers ♥
Oh how I love those boys!

Ellen gets ready to bat.

She hits the bat on her shoes (always!)

She hits home plate (always!)

That routine happens several times
every time she is up to bat!

Ready to swing and get a hit.
She had some good hits!

Running!
I thought her hitting and running was so improved
over previous years.

Mary, her life skills coach,
came to the game!

Ellen and Mary have a close bond.

And just like that
the season is over.

How quickly it went by.

Next, the team picnic and pool party!!

The weather was perfect.
The food outstanding.

And the friends, the best!

The kids had a good time in that
lovely pool!

Some parents too.

It was hard to leave....

but our day was not over.

Someone, as I had said, wanted to see some fireworks.

After she showered and all first.

So around 8:30
we headed towards Park City Mall
to find a parking space
in hopes to see the fireworks from Longs Park.

We usually are in the park
but this year it wasn't working to be there.

Our week was full.
Our day was full!!

And besides all that,
there was a funeral for a high school friend
of our daughter Marcy that afternoon.

That sweet lady,
her name is Jen,
was one of the bridesmaids at Marcy and Scott's wedding.

She also was the mom of granddaughter Zoe's best friend.
She and Christy (my DIL and Zoe's mom) became good friends.

Her death was unexpected and fills us with deep sadness.

So, it was all too much to even consider going into the park.

Please pray for Jen's family! *

We parked near Marcy and Scott at the mall
and the rest of the Smith family
and Jess's parents....
Jess is our hair stylist and married to Scott's brother
and are next door neighbors to Marcy and Scott!
Love it!

Well, the view was not ideal....

Some were higher and so beautiful.
(Really didn't get any good shots of the beautiful!)

But, the company was wonderful
and that, my friends, matters the most!

It was a good day ♥

My deepest sympathy in the unexpected passing of Jen.

Such a blessing the bond that Mary has with Ellen. That pool is gorgeous and I know it was hard to leave!

So proud of Ellen and her improved batting/running skills this season.

Being together for the fireworks sounds like a lot of fun.

Wishing you a peaceful rest on your pretty porch soon! Wish I could join you!

What a busy day! Hooray for Ellen. Most ball players seem to have a little routine before they bat.
Very sad about your friend Jen.
