Fun Family Weekend

Nice weather continues. Some days have been hot, some have been absolutely pleasant and some have a chill in the air. The chill is today! It's sunny though so not too bad.

Noah has been asking for a fire, meaning he wants to make s'mores. Saturday evening was a perfect time for such an activity. He was so excited!

Gina came to Lancaster by bus that afternoon
after working a 12 hour shift the night before.
We had done some shopping before coming home.

She already had taken a shower and didn't want to smell like a campfire
so she stayed up on the deck.
I made her a s'more ☺

Finger licking good!

Gotta love a nice evening around a fire....
especially when it involves a yummy treat!

Sunday was a busy day.
Church,
belated Fahnestock family Easter dinner,
baseball game for Ellen....
the game was at the farthermost location
of all her games.
It was picture day because of a rain cancellation.
She had to go to this game.

We ate quickly then headed out for the 50 minute drive.
It was a HOT day!
But there was a good breeze which helped.

Ellen is up to bat.

This league is for kids with challenges....
They all get to bat in the three innings.
Some need assistance to bat or run the bases.
Some are in wheelchairs,
some walk the bases with a buddy,
some run independently.

They all have a great time!

She's waving because I'm taking a picture....
of course I am!

After the game we headed back to the family get-to-gether.

My heart goes pitter-patter....
Our sweet Grands!

If you can take your eyes off the cute kids,
how about that view??

This little guy was pretending the swing was a train.
He offered me a ride.
Of course I took it!

He told me we were going to New York.
I told him I love New York!
He said he was never there but we would see tall buildings.

Oh we had a grand ride!
Thanks for the trip, Carson!

Nancy, Dale's sister, has beautiful gardens.

After a light supper Gina was ready to head back to her home.
The skies looked stormy by that time
but it probably wasn't going to get better so we left.

Thank God Dale was doing the driving.
We got into some very heavy rain,
crazy lightning, some loud cracks of thunder.

Thankfully by the time Gina got to her house the rain was taking a break.
But it was still lightning so it was a quick goodbye!

We drove through more rain and some hail on the way home.
As we were coming over the mountain towards Manheim,
I was a bit nervous over the look of the sky
but it cleared as we got closer to Manheim
and even more so as we neared our home.

We had one brief storm here and that was it!

There was a small tornado that damaged some homes
about 25 miles or so from here.

I thought the sky was interesting to our north
as we were nearing our home.

In no time it was looking a lot more scary!!

Many have said it was a crazy storm.
Caused a lot of folks to head to their basements.

Gina said it stormed in Lebanon until after midnight sometime.
I'm not crazy about lightening or wind.
Happy to get this one past....
feel sooo bad for those with storm damage.

That's it for today.

I take Zoe to ballet later
and there are two school meeting for the parents to attend this evening.

End of the school year busy!

God bless your Tuesday!

LOVE all these activities of warmer days!! And so many wonderful fun cute pictures! But these storms are really crazy this year! I’m still thinking about that possible trap door in my bathroom!

You take the most beautiful pictures, Doris. I also love the mosaic you did with Nancy's pretty flowers. The grands are growing so fast. The folks who lived here left us a fire pit and stumps to sit around the fire! We'll have to copy you guys and make s'mores! So happy that Gina could be there for all the fun and fellowship. The sky photos are scary. Thankful you all made it home safely. xoxo Don't forget The Voice tonight!!!

Your life sure does not get boring! Thanks for sharing these fun times.
I was at LBC on Sunday evening to see a performance by Servant Stage. I figured we should be safe in that big building. Fortunately it was not raining when we left, but was lightning, we hurried home, and it poured just as I pulled in the driveway. The sky did make me nervous. Sure am glad you weren't driving alone on Sunday evening.

A nice family outing and lots of activities going on, as always, Doris. Glad you all made it home safely as those skies did look threatening.
