Witmer Retreat, part 2

The Witmer clan that attended this year.
(about half of us!)

Sunday, July 15

After clearing out our rooms
(staff needed to begin the cleaning for the next group)
and breakfast in the dining hall,
the rains came.
Thunder, lightening, heavy rain!
Dale and I were still in the dining hall with several other family members
and needed to get back to the conference room for our family church service.
Dale took off up the hill...
I was not going out there in that rain!
So I hopped a ride with my sister Rose and her hubby in their car.

We told Bob to drop us off at the back stairway to the conference room.
I hopped out of the car...got to the door and it was locked!!
Rose had already gotten out too.
we ran back to the car....already soaked in that little trip!

Of course we were laughing like crazy.
Then Bob said we could have gone to the covered walkway to the porch
which was right there!!
We howled with laughter again and ran for the covered walkway....
How many Witmer sisters does it take to.....
Apparently more than two =)

Our church always includes singing.
We grew up singing and we are still at it!

Jeanie, our choir director....
she really is a choir director and we happily call on her to lead us!

There is always a lesson for the kids.
This year Christy, my DIL, taught them.

She did a great job!
She used our Dad as an example for his intentional prayers for all of us.
It was very touching!

Her audience.

She prepared a project for them to work on during the adults sharing time

Decorating prayer journals =)

It was a great morning!

Later Uncle Scott Kepnes (sister Betty's hubby)
entertained the kids while waiting to go for lunch.

He's a wonderful entertainer….
I do believe there were several adults dancing too!

Picture taking, of course...

The Witmer Siblings....
Dick, Mary Ellen, Jeanie, Me,
Barb, Betty (most know her as Elizabeth) and Rose.

Our oldest sister, Janet, passed away in 2004.

Our kids in attendance standing in order by age.
My six (from left)

Grandchildren that attended
and a couple of dads with little ones who needed encouragement to participate =)

All too soon it was time to part =(
Really, it felt way too soon.

Can't be over already....
we aren't finished talking yet!!

Hugs and see ya's.

High 5's too.

Everyone was on their way back home filled with warm memories.

Parting shots -

Getting this bunch to cooperate for a family picture,
oh my.....

 Help me, please =0)

Ugh, looks hopeless......

It is what it is, HA HA HA!
Love this bunch!!

Loved seeing these pictures!!! It's so wonderful to see all the different things that everyone else captures! We just can't all be everywhere at the same time. I missed out on the crazy rain. I got to the meeting room just as it was starting. I didn't realize all the drama happening out there!

I enjoyed seeing your pictures. It has been a long time since I have seen a family that big and everyone looked like they were having fun. Sweet memories made for sure. Thanks for sharing.

I loved seeing all the pictures of your family. It looks like you all love each other and enjoy each other's company. That is so rare in these days. I was so impressed that you had such an organized family church service. It would be next to impossible to have my family do that. Thanks so much for sharing your time with us. It was a beautiful place you stayed at.

What wonderful family pictures of your family. Sorry you got soaked running for a church service. Guess you would call that being baptised by water rather than by fire?! lol Hope you have a wonderful, blessed Sunday- xo Diana
