No Title (because I couldn't think of one!)

It's time to catch up. I'll start with a few pictures of my little Grandson who does a good job keeping me moving =)

He loves sitting in this doll stroller.
Thankfully,  on this day, he was content to sit and not want to be pushed in it....
that's a back killer!!

Perfect toy to use to climb!!

What do you see out there, sweet boy?

Ellen works with a Life Skills coach two days a week. Here she and Mary are making dinner.

Going to see what you are up to, Aunt Ellen!

But he decides to pull Ellen's apron strings instead!
Which, by the way, is really, really funny!!

Pretty tree on our street.

Saturday Brunch at church........Of course I was very busy and didn't take many pictures.
The theme was Celebrating the Seasons of our Lives. About 30 women and girls attended. Lots of work but SO worth it!

The pictures of the tables were taken before the silverware was placed and the candles lit. I took them in case I would forget later....I did forget!

Precious people enjoying the food and fun!

(clockwise) Abby is loving the scrapple!
Checking out some pictures from a few years ago.
These young girls made our time together special!
Looking at more pictures =)
Aunt Greta helps Zoe choose some fruit. Doesn't it all look so delicious?!!

Almost forgot to include this picture.
Sweet girl, Zoe!
(Who has been losing lots of teeth lately!!)

After eating we had a panel discussion with three women in different seasons of their lives....
Teen, mother with young children, empty nester. Then, one of the women who asked me by email the night before the brunch, put me on the hot seat and handed out questions to the audience to ask me!! Oh my, not my favorite, but I agreed since she felt it was really important for our women. Some of the questions were funny, some serious =)

After the brunch Ellen and I had just a little time to go to a book sale. This sale was very special because the books belonged to a former teacher of Ellen's who passed away in April. We had so little time but we found some books to treasure!
Check this out.....

1915!

on the inside.....
March 13 has meaning to me =)

Yesterday was a beautiful day to go vote.

Ellen voted for the first time!
She's been registered for several years but hasn't expressed interest until this year.
Before going, we went over each candidate, their background, their platform.
She decided who she wanted to vote for and we marked her choices on a sample ballot.
Here she is, enjoying a free half-donut being given to all voters =)
Proud of my girl!!

As pretty as it was yesterday, today it's damp and kinda foggy on our hill. Our emotions and thoughts and prayers are real and on-going for this nation. No candidate was a good choice, in my opinion.

God help us to be salt and light,
the hands and feet of Jesus.
May we never put our trust in nations, in people.
My HOPE is in you, God.
My strength is in you, God.

Lots going around in my head this morning. Somehow I must find a way to let all (at least some) of those who are sincerely worried, feel ignored, feeling disrespected (again) because of who they are and what was said during this election, find hope, peace and value.  Words matter (and tone), folks.  I couldn't ignore it before voting and I will not ignore it now.

Clean the slate, God, so we can start this day Fresh!
Keep me from stupid sins,
from thinking I can take over your work;
Then I can start this day sun-washed, scrubbed clean of the grime of sin.
These are the words in my mouth,
these are what I chew on and pray.
Accept them when I place them on the morning alter,
O God, my Altar-Rock,
God, Priest-of-my-Altar.
Psa. 19: 13-14 (the message)

May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight,
Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.
Psa. 19:14 (NIV)

A great idea of decorating for the four seasons! My friend once did a neighborhood summer get-together and used decorations from all the different holidays. The children LOVED IT!

Your church event looked like such a good time, and everything was decorated so pretty! Hooray for Ellen voting! Good thoughts to end the post. Praying for our country to come together...

Lots of good things in this post, Doris, family and church events have definitely been keeping you busy, as always. Looks like everyone had a great time at the lincheoon and the decorations were delightful so all your prep work was well worth the results. Congrats to Brinley on her recent birthday and also to Ellen on casting her first votes.
