Special Week in our Hometown

This week is a special week.....it's Manheim Farmshow week! We no longer live 'just around the bend' from this event, which means it's not an everyday attendance for us. It's not that we live that far away.....but 25 minutes each way is far enough. Ellen works three of the five days so I took her to the Farmshow for lunch on Tuesday. That made her a happy girl!

She had a hot dog, we both had fries (the BEST fries ever!!) and a milkshake. We couldn't stay long since she had to go to work later in the afternoon. The weather was perfect: not too hot, not too cold, cloudy but no rain :)

Tuesday evening was our Women of Hope meeting at church. Last month we decided to have an ice cream social for the October meeting. Talk about yummy and fun!!

I just love my church sisters :)

Wednesday evening it was back to Manheim for more Farmshow food (so yummy!!) and the parade. Our kids grew up attending the parade. It's a wonderful tradition!

Look who's peeking in the window of the tent, grandson Carson!

Lots and lots and lots of people had the same plan as we did. Food lines were l.o.n.g!! We had fries again, Ellen had pizza, I had roast beef (no bun) with BBQ sauce and horseradish sauce, Dale had a sausage sandwich and we all had milkshakes, of course. The milkshake lines were forever long....but very worth the wait.

Marching bands are warming up on the football field. Ellen loves marching bands!

The weather this week is amazingly warm. And it's dry....no rain. I'd love for it to be this warm and dry every year, at least on parade night!

We love the WJTL Cookie Break car!

No Farmshow for us today. Tomorrow is the last day and we plan to be there  :)

Today is another perfect weather day....Fall certainly can be pleasant.

No pumpkins or mums on our porch yet....hopefully soon!

Praying for all the people in the path of the nasty storm Matthew! This storm changed vacation plans for one of my daughters...better safe than sorry.

God bless your day!

So many good memories of the farm show! I hope that some year Dick and I will be able to attend again.

I always enjoy hearing about the farm show and the good food you talk about having while there. I am hungry for french fries and milk shake now!
God bless your niece in Jacksonville.
I know Ellen enjoyed the marching bands!
