It's been a week!

Yes, it has been a week.
A week since I posted.
A week of getting used to the absence of a precious person who is no longer with us. Even my two Grands that we live with are talking about how different our family gatherings will be.
A week of spending time with family. That was a wonderful thing!
It has been quite a week.

Today I will post some pictures taken during this past week. They are all taken with my phone.

Beautiful flowers sent to us from a wonderful family friend.

A beautiful rose in memory of a precious lady.

We had a dusting of snow Saturday morning. I wasn't thrilled. There were several snow squalls in the afternoon too.

Spring is coming......oh, it's here! Just can't tell on this day.

No kidding, I did this. Thank God I discovered it before I went out!!

A beautiful sunset.

The sunrise this morning.

Ellen is getting on the school bus. She is the only one in this neighborhood to get picked up at the house.

I took out some trash and this robin just ignored me and kept hopping around on the driveway. Pretty bird!

Blessings!

Quick Post

Our week will not be a typical week. On Sunday evening my Mother in Law passed away. While we are sad to not have her near, we can rejoice that she is with Jesus.

I'm taking a little blog break until after the services are past and life settles into a bit of routine once more.

On the First Day of Spring

This is how we did it this year ....

(Taken through the windshield of my car....I was out and about lots today)

May these bushes soon be filled with blooms. :)

May the grass soon be green.....

May this flower bed soon be filled with COLOR!

Oh, I made sure there was COLOR on this first day of Spring...

Happy, Happy, Happy!

*************************************************

Please remember my hubby's family in prayer. His mother (in her 90's) had a severe stroke yesterday. She is not doing well.

God Bless you today. Happy Spring!

It's a beautiful day

Guess where I am.

I'm certain you guessed it!

I hear birds singing all over these woods. It's just the kind of music I need for today.

It's not real balmy out here....

But it's good enough to sit a spell and breath in some glorious fresh air.

The snow is melting.

Most areas are completely rid of the white stuff. Ours is slowly leaving.

Look who came to join me....

She even came with a beautiful cup of coffee especially for me. Looks like she will be joining me with a cup for herself. I love this sweet girl....and she loves me too. I know because she just told me :)

I will enjoy today even as the skies are becoming cloud covered and the sunshine is disappearing.

Ok, now I'm cold. Heading inside!

Blessings!

It was a Great Day

Thanks for all the wishes sent to me yesterday!

I was wished a -
Good day
Great day
Wonderful day
Fabulous day
Beautiful day
Fantastic day
Blessed day
Very blessed day
Extra special day
Enjoyable day
Relaxing day
Perfect day

Talk about making me feel special, indeed, those wishes made my day. One in particular made me laugh....of course, that one was what Scott, my son-in-law wrote.
"Happy Just another day, day! Also, I'm glad you were born because .....ya know....the whole Marcy existence thing.....and being Nana....and making food, etc."
I couldn't help but giggle. I do enjoy making him food! He called it, just another day, because that's what I said it was....if all my kind friends wouldn't have kept reminding me, I'm not sure I would have remembered!

From Hubby....

From my son.....

Corey and Christy treated me to the best Chinese take-out. We are blessed to have a wonderful restaurant very near us and have never been disappointed with their food.

They also provided dessert of vanilla ice cream (my favorite) with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Yum!

I also got my free Starbucks drink...Peppermint Mocha Latte. So good!!

Yes, it was wonderful and every other word on that list. Being 61 is starting out just fine!

Blessings to you, my friends!

All in a Week

From this....

To This.....

It's melting in a hurry
thanks to some very awesome temps this week!

This makes me very happy!!
Hope to soon find other bulbs that were planted last year.

$5 bunch of flowers will brighten my day, always!
(Barbie is just hanging out on my kitchen table ☺)

61 years ago today I was born to Paul and Mabel Witmer. I was their 5th child, the 4th girl. Three more girls were born to them after me. I'm thrilled to be chosen by God for this family. I'm blessed beyond measure!

This isn't nearly all of us.
In fact as many that could be at this gathering last summer....
There are just as many that couldn't.

Paul and Mabel did good ♥

Mama and Daddy are with Jesus
and we are very blessed to have our Mary, Dad's second wife, with us.
(She is two people over on my left)
Oh how we love her!!

Blessings to you today!

Happy Birthday to Marcy!

Today is Marcy's birthday, our second child. Yes, she is still in the hospital but will be coming home sometime today. Yeah!!

May today be filled with many great moments for you, Marcy!
You are an amazing person, a wonderful Mother to your two daughters, and a lovely wife to Scott.

Happy Birthday to you!

This was taken a few years ago
but it's a favorite.

This is more recent.
I love it too.
Sweet family ♥

Brinley

Granddaughter Brinley has been my companion the last few days. She is 3 years old, tiny and energetic. Love her to pieces! Here's some pictures I took while she spent time with me.

Looking for a snack....she loves snacks!

She saw some peppermint marshmallows and was sure she'd like them. She ate one and asked for more! I told her one was enough :)

Today she wanted yogurt...with whipped cream!
I said no whipped cream. Love her!

Brinley loves books!

She asked for me to read this one....
This is one of the many that was loved by my children. I love it when the Grands love the same books our kids did!

Brinley also loves crowns and wands....

And Strawberry Shortcake....

She's a very busy girl. Such a sweetheart! Please keep her Mommy (our daughter Marcy) in your prayers. She has been in the hospital since Sunday night. They are trying to determine what is causing pain and a fever. She is feeling better for which we are SO thankful.

Is this the last snow??

We are having a snow day.
 School is canceled for today.

I was awake just after 6 as usual...

Of course I grabbed the camera....

It was SO pretty out there!

Had my coffee,
read the newspaper,
watched some Today show....
made my morning smoothie
(kale, spinach, flax seed, almond milk.
vanilla protein powder, frozen blueberries and strawberries),
then I took more pictures!

Our Snow curtain!

So after a winter of way too many
 (my opinion)
little snow storms which create havoc on the roads,
ice, sleet, freezing rain.....
we are having a bigger snow storm.
In March.

Here's hoping this will be the last of it!!
Because, I'm so ready for some color in my world!

I helping out Mother Nature =)

Now I need to get busy and get something done around here. Never a shortage of chores! Picture taking will surely be part of my day, too. It's to keep snowing until this evening.

a Birthday, a Treat, a Winter Day, a Pretty Pillow

Yesterday was my son's birthday. He is our only son and is surrounded by sisters, 5 of them!

Here he is with his family. God blessed him with a wonderful wife and two children...the third child, a boy, will be born in May. We live with them and LOVE it!

To celebrate Corey's birthday, I made a family favorite dessert. Pudding Pizza.

Because of our snow/icy weather yesterday, most of our kids decided to stay home instead of gathering here as they usually do on a Sunday. They were sad to miss this dessert....I will make it again, I promise. (It's been way too long since I made it)

Let me tell you something about this dessert....I've been making it for many, many years.
When Corey and Christy were dating, this pudding pizza was a favorite of Christy's. She loved it and I made it often for her. C&C broke up and I was SO sad. I purposely did not make it till they got back together again. Nope, not once! Never informed anyone that I wouldn't be making it, just never did till she was back in the picture. We often chuckle about that :)

Yesterday it looked like this....

It started snowing in the morning...wasn't supposed to start till afternoon.

It kept snowing and snowing all through church. It was still snowing after our fellowship meal following the service.

It changed to sleet and freezing rain. That's called a yucky day!!

This morning most schools had a two hour delay. Back roads take longer to get cleared. By the time I needed to take Zoe to preschool, the roads were ok.

This is how it looks out there today..

Thrilled to see blue skies!

Ellen and I went shopping Saturday afternoon. It was a sunny day, and of course snow was in the forecast for Sunday. The mall was full!! She found some clothes she liked then we had a late lunch....

Really, Mom?? Of course, sweet girl, says her Mom :)

I enjoy Subway chopped salads!

Before heading home we stopped at TJ Maxx. This was in the clearance area, I knew it was meant for our home.
Love this pretty pillow!

Spring is on the way....I will make it happen indoors if it refuses to come outdoors. That much I can do!

Blessings to you this day!

P. S. For those who want the pudding pizza recipe....google Chocolate Pudding Pizza. Taste of Home recipe should come up. That's the one I use. We like chocolate chip cookie dough and PB. I use ready to bake dough. Cream cheese in a tub is perfect for spreading on the cooled cookie. We love this dessert!
