Happy 4th!

How it's possible that today is the 4th,

I have no idea.

Really, did we even have June???

Crazy!

Last evening we went to Long's Park

for the concert and fireworks.

This had been a yearly tradition for about 40 years

but we had missed a couple of years

and the past two were canceled because of the pandemic.

Being there again reminded me why it had been

a tradition for us...

it's soooo amazing!

I kept the food as simple as possible

because I'm older than I used to be 😀

Was a beautiful evening,

hot at first but not humid.

We have been there in extreme heat and rain, storms...

none of us are up for that kind of adventure anymore!

Family gathered in a big circle...

not everyone could come.

We were happy that Dale's sister could go with us.

Gina and Justin came...
was Justin's first time there.

Notice the food trucks in the background.
We sat on the opposite side than we usually do.
Some family members were not sad about that because
those trucks were very assessable  😀

Greta and the boys...
they brought their little monster trucks and a game with them.
Wish I had thought to get pictures of that.
Greta said they never leave the house without their cars ♥

Lynn, Scott, Paityn.
Marcy, Brinley and Cambrie stayed home.

Ellen has festive headbands for nearly every holiday!!

Such a pretty sky!

The people kept coming
but it didn't seem as full as other years.

The concert was so good.
US Army Band, Pershing's Own.

They have been at this event for many years
and I think this one was the best yet!

The fireworks were AMAZING!

Nothing like having them right on top of you.

Ellen wore her noise canceling headphones
and sat on her dad (!)
but
she stayed in the park!!
And enjoyed it...
that's a big win for her!

Enjoy your day....
I need to go make some pudding parfaits
for dinner.

Happy 4th!

I know, how is it the 4th? Time is flying right by! It looks like you all had the best time! It was nice to have a somewhat normal 4th, isn't it? Have a blessed and beautiful day dear friend, HUGS!

Looks like a great evening of food, fireworks and lots of fun, Doris. And Ellen's headset was very colorful!

And I'm still sad we weren't there with you! The last time Dick and I were there in 2019 none of you were there! One of these years we'll do it together again I hope.
