Sister Time!

I was away for the first time since Covid.

And it was so good!

Friday morning my sister, Mary Ellen,

picked me up and we made our way north

to our sister Jean

who lives in the State Collage, PA area.

Having postponed this trip twice,

we felt it would be ok  to go now.

Penn State students have not yet returned to campus

which felt a little safer for us old ladies to go ☺

You know, the Covid 19 thing,

not because of the people themselves!!

We arrived in time for lunch....

pizza, chips and fruit.

And I didn't take any pictures, sadly.

Later we made our way to her son's beautiful property

where we sat by the pond till it got too hot.

The fountain was so beautiful!

Their house tucked into the trees...just so lovely!

Later we went back to Jeanie's house.

Some of her beautiful flowers...

Jeanie put a wonderful mixture of veggies and sausage

into the oven to roast for our dinner.

It was delicious!!

We sat on her little side porch to eat...

I didn't take any pictures of people but I did snap one of the sky ☺

After dinner was cleaned up, we watched a movie,

something I rarely do!

Laughed a lot...was so good to laugh with my sisters.

Saturday we had our coffee on the side porch again.

Just lovely...

Mary Ellen took a picture of Jeanie and me...

my 'morning  before I fix myself up' look ☺☺

Wanna see it??

Ok, since it's already been on FB guess I'll post it...

Puffy eyes and all! LOL

So here's one after some work...

We made ourselves presentable for some really good breakfast.

Sower's Cafe is a favorite!

The outdoor seating was absolutely lovely.

After that we went to another favorite place,

the Arboretum!

No matter when, it's always beautiful!

Breathtaking!

Loved these tall trees
and look at all the leaves on the ground!!

From there we went back to the house where we rested,

then packed up to go home again.

Short but still fabulous to be together.

I'll take it ♥

Yesterday we watched church online.

Then I made Ellen her eggs and bacon for breakfast

something that's become a tradition since Covid

and we aren't going out to eat.

Today I started working on our bedroom closet.

It's going to take more than a day to complete!

Was pleased with what I accomplished so far.

I made mini meatloaves and baked potatoes and sweet potatoes

for dinner.

Not much left to put away so I guess it was good ;-)

We had a quite a rainstorm this evening before dinner.

It didn't last long but was a nice refresh.

That's it for today.

Please take care, my friends!

Beautiful photos - your sisters property is breathtaking. My one and only sister passed back in 2015 at the young age of 56. You don't realize how much your siblings or a sister mean to you, until they are gone, taking with them many shared memories.

Thanks for sharing that memorable time. May there be many more...

I love that you three were having sister time at the same time as my sister and I. It's funny that we are both posting about sister time together. Such a blessing! Glad you were able to see each other and have a good time!
PS - you look good in the morning. You should see me!

It was fun to read your blog. I haven't had time to write about our weekend yet. It seemed so short, but we really did get lots of pictures, didn't we? But none of those yummy ice cream cones we didn't get.
