Happy Birthday, Zoe!

Our Granddaughter, Zoe, had her 8th birthday on Sunday.

It was such a busy day with her brother acting in the musical, Honk Jr. It was the last performance that afternoon and then the cast party afterwards. She was ok with all that....she is the most amazingly flexible little girl!

Here's a picture of our little actor....

I'll tell you more about the show next post. It was wonderful!

Back to our birthday girl.

Pictures from past birthdays....1, 3 and 4.

Sweetheart, that's what she was and still is!

Today was the day she chose to celebrate. Her requested meal was eggs goldenrod! So that's what I made for her.

While she was away with her mommy I set up a special place setting at the table for her.

She also requested chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. She joins me in eating gluten free so I picked up a GF chocolate cake mix at the grocery store this afternoon. I made the icing I always make using gluten free flour then added powdered peanut....well, it's not butter but it tastes like it. Christy suggested using it and it worked! She decorated the cake to look like a unicorn. Zoe was pleased and that's all that matters!

Zoe adds the candles and little brother is being silly :)

Daddy lights the candles, we sing, she blows them out! She celebrates!

Cake and ice cream, yummy!!

Opening the gift from her parents....with her eyes closed. Because she wanted to be surprised to see what it was when she finished the job! What a kid.

It was a jewelry making kit. She loves it!

Zoe, you are a joy to live with! We love your energy, your sweetness, your love for life. Enjoy being 8! Love you!

I like eggs goldenrod too, have not made it for years. I enjoyed knowing someone else likes it. So fun to see your birthday celebration for Zoe. Great pictures.

What a sweetheart she is! Happy Birthday Zoe! I've never heard of Eggs Goldenrod. I think you'll have to share the recipe sometime. :)
