As it is in many parts of the USA.... it's cold, it's very windy, it snowed. Little snow here unlike much the east coast. I'm ok with that! The wind gets to me and I will be sleeping with ear buds in my ears listening to a sermon (yup, I often do!) or music. Told hubby today that I'm ready to head to Florida and come back for my birthday in March!!
The tree on the porch is rockin in the wind!
Hope it stays standing. Yikes. Yes, that's snow on the table and porch floor.
This evening I was asking the Lord to help me see beauty in this season which I just don't like. Winter is hard and so lllooong for me.
Besides the struggle with the intense cold today, my heart has been heavy for another reason. I ask you to pray for a friend. Do you remember the moms and daughters group that Ellen and I often do things with? One of the moms is fighting for her life in a hospital in Philadelphia. We are so sad!! I'm not going to say much about it because she is a very private person and this is a very public forum. Just pray!! Please pray.
My burn is healing so nicely. None of the blisters will open because they all are dissolving. Yay!! I'm amazed. But, good grief, does my hand ever look old :(
Good night! Stay safe, stay warm, be well!
(Talking about being well....last evening we canceled our women's group at church because so many are sick. Another reason I detest winter. I won't say it yet, but I'm close. Bring on s.....)

I like your lighted trees on the porch and in the yard. Glad you hand is beginning to heal. Praying with you for your dear friend in the hospital. I am like you: January weather has always been my least favorite, but spring will come again!
I will pray for your friend, God knows all about it! It is cold here too, just NO SNOW and for that I am thankful! Love the porch tree, hope it stays standing in the wind:) Your hand is looking much better! Have a blessed day dear friend, HUGS!!
Prayers for your friend, keep us updated when you can. Sure glad your hand is healing. I admit I do like wintertime, but this year it has been too bitter cold and not fun to be out in it. I understand your feelings toward it tho. We dont have snow and not sure we will get it, but to the east of us, and even south of us, they got dumped on. Just stay safe and warm.
I am so sorry about your friend!! I will pray for her and her family as she comes to my mind.
I'm glad your hand is healing. Despite the bitter cold, your outdoor pictures are so beautiful. We WILL survive! Florida does sound good though - even their 44 degrees, LOL!
I also need to pray about enjoying the beauty of winter, because I get caught up in the woes of winter driving and them being cold, cold, cold!
I'm so sorry about your friend and will pray for her.
Doris, I know that "S" stands for spring...you surely do not mean snow. LOL. I did not know you burned your hand...that had to have hurt so badly. Thankful you are healing. Yes, I will pray for your friend in the hospital. All prayers help. Blessings to you and your family, stay healthy. xoxo, Susie
Sorry to read about your burn injury, Doris, as I must have missed that mention in a previous post but glad it's healing. Yes, we will keep the woman you mentioned in our thoughts and prayers. I know what a special bond this group has from all your previous posts. Hoping all will turn out well.
yes, I agree that prolonged cold is depressing and we have had a LOT of it here as well as snow which will be around for quite awhile. That said, I still enjoy the winter time.
