First things first......
It's cold! And it's going to stay that way for at least a week. I'm not a fan of cold.
It's snowing!
Taken just after 7a.
Getting more than predicted.
The squirrels are loving it!
I'm not a fan of snow either but it is pretty!
Our Christmas Day......
Our white Christmas!
Ellen is ready to see what's in her stocking!
Opening gifts..............
She loves these!
Dale's new coffee maker from
Corey, Christy and the kids ☺
That's Ellen's cat picture next to him...
it lights up!
This gift to me was a shocker......
Always wanted one.
Never thought I'd ever get one.
I opened a big gift from Corey, Christy and kids
and it was a Vitamix!
I kept saying,
No Way!!
It's too much!!
(and it is!)
We are putting it to use....
lots more to learn!
After gift opening and some play for some
and rest for others.....
Get cracking on the meal to come!
putting the chicken cordon bleu together.
Family gathers around the tables.....
Corey purposely hid behind the flowers!
Laughter, always!
Not a good picture
but
Aidan thought this was really funny!!
so did Paityn and Brinley....
Marcy is trying to get it under control!!
Kids =)
Almost forgot to include these two....
Where's Carson?? ☺
Sweet Cambrie!
Gifts for the kids....
Wait, who's that?
Never know what crazy will show up at our family Christmas!!
Aidan had to work to get this gift unwrapped!
He could see the Nurf Gun through the bubble wrap
and duct tape....
motivation!!
(I had fun wrapping it!)
A Reese's ice cream bowl for Ellen....
Perfect with her Reese's mugs she got earlier!!
We played the Now you Have it, Now you Don't game again....
I call the numbers so no pictures.
Lots of fun, as usual.
Noah was helping Dad with his numbers.
He was holding #1.
Every time I called a number, he wanted it to be #1.
But it wasn't and he was SO sad!
Was actually comical.
But I took pity on him and called #1
(even though I hadn't found it yet)
Oh the JOY for that boy ☺
Look at the gift he chose to keep....
A snoring chin strap!!
He thought it was awesome!!
Brinley at the table with her candy filled football....
She's thrilled too!
Not a good picture...
David opening his gift filled with lotion!!
(thanks, Scott!)
There was a game or something in it....separate from the lotion.
He was hoping for a bunny suit!
Aidan with Christmas boxers!!
Oh we had fun!
After the games and gifts,
I finally got to hold Toby.
No pictures of me holding him
but here's one of Kim taking her turn....
He is such a cuddly baby!

Wednesday, December 27.
Hubby's 64th birthday!
We made a cake and the Grands decorated it.
Aidan adding more sprinkles and candy pieces!
Noah puts some on too, of course!
Zoe finishes the job =)
I was told that it was yummy....
thank goodness I had 3 gluten free cupcakes in the freezer
for the 3 GF people in our house!
Thursday, December 28,
our 44th wedding anniversary!
We were kids ♥
Friday, December 29
We babysat these three cuties.....
Isn't this the best picture?
Last evening the parents wanted to go out to eat with Scott's brother and his girlfriend
who are visiting from California for the Holidays.
The older two played with the older two who live here.
We, Pop Pop, Corey and I, followed after Cambrie.
She crawls, pulls herself up, picks up EVERYTHING off the floor
and puts it into her mouth.
Typical 11 month behavior =)
She kept us busy.
I had a mishap while making a simple dinner.
I picked up a cast iron skillet to take to the sink.
I hadn't used it, so
imagine my surprise when I picked it up and it was
HOT HOT HOT!!!
I dropped it on the floor.
My hand hurt. Bad.
Young Living lavender essential oil
and lavender hand and body lotion,
lots and often.
Looks better today.
I'll try not to burst the blisters.
There's one right between my thumb and first finger.
Will be a challenge.....
Sometimes my brain just is not as engaged as it should be.
I pray daily for my safety!!
This post is long enough! Besides, I have a few things that I should be doing. Gotta get on with my day!

Girl, you have an absolute awesome family. That table full is amazing. I miss a full table. Maybe some day.im so sorry. Looks like you won’t be cooking for awhile. Take care of yourself! Happy New YeT!
Hi Doris, I enjoyed this post and the photos. Looks like a lot of fun, except the snow and cold temps! The Christmas photo of Marcy's girls is beautiful! So very sorry about your hand. Once at a Mex. restaurant, John grabbed the handle of his meal that was in a skillet - worst burn he ever had. God bless you all in the new year. xoxo
Happy Anniversary and Happy New Year. Glad you all could get together for Christmas.
I sure enjoyed seeing your pictures. You DO have a big family and I know you love being with them. Hoping and praying your hand gets better and you arent having pain. Happy New Year to you and yours and hope 2018 will be best year ever!
Thanks Doris for this nice catch-up post. Belated birthday wishes to Dale and also belated Happy Anniversary wishes to you both ( you did look so young, like kids).hope your injured hand is doing better. It was fun to see all the Christmas Day activities, gift opening, meal prep, and then dinner. We send our best wishes as well to all of you for a wonderful and Happy New Year🍾🎉
I am so sorry you burnt your hand. Make sure you have some of that New Skin liquid bandage on hand to treat the area if the blister breaks. It acts as your skin until it heals. Amazing stuff-especially on burns.
It looks like you had a wonderful and blessed Christmas season with family. I love all the family pictures and look at that sweet little baby.
I hope your New Year is filled with many joyous moments and blessings- xo Diana
I don't know how I missed this post! Happy New Year Doris and family. You sure had a wonderful Christmas. I was going to call you but lost your phone number. Please email it to me when you get the chance. I forgot that your husband is two days older than me. Happy birthday, Dale! It's great being a Christmas baby.
So sorry to hear about your burnt hand. I hope it heals up fast. Be very careful with it. I just can't imagine how badly it must hurt.
Oh my.... I only now saw that you posted this!! I guess I was in my own Christmas world last weekend when you posted it, and have been trying to catch up and stay warm ever since! State College school district has had off this whole week due to high school construction, so I have had Austin here and have done some thing s with him several days this week.
All your pictures are wonderful!! I long for the day when we can get all of our gang together at one time again. Even all the PA gang couldn't make it to our fondue last Saturday because of the snow. But we still had a whole lot of fun. I'll try to get a blog posted tomorrow.
