The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

It is wonderful and I love it! This week has been super busy so I've not had time to blog. I'll just post a few quick pictures of some of what I've been up to.

Our women's ministry at church had a Cookie Walk fundraiser this morning. We sold tickets for a container that the buyer could fill with yummy cookies. The money raised went to support children in Ghana and Ghana Initiative, a mobile medical mission. I baked two kinds of cookies for this event. One kind was a sandwich cookie with cream cheese filling. Five of us met at church on Tuesday evening to fill the cookies and set up the tables. I wish I had taken a picture of us that evening!

Chocolate crinkles....my other contribution.

Getting ready.....
My daughter, Greta, opening containers of cookies.

Sue doing the same :)

Grandson Carson and his dad fill a container.

Yummy cookies!!

Last Saturday our Keurig quit working. We have a coffee pot too, but when you only want one cup, a Keurig is so handy. I was trying to be fine without my extra coffee during the day....a cup of regular flavored coffee in the afternoon (a needed boost!) and sometimes a cup of decaf in the evening. Fine I was not!!

On Monday I decided to stop at McDonalds for a cup of coffee after taking Ellen to work. Noah was sleeping in the car and the drive thru was so convenient. Who would I see in the car in the other lane.....my daughter Marcy and her hubby Scott!! They were coming home after a long appointment and stopped at McD's for some food. We got a good laugh out of that!

On Wednesday I used my free Starbucks for this....
Was saving that free one for when I really needed it. I really needed it that day! Venti....peppermint mocha. I enjoyed every drop of it!!

Yesterday this sweet thing was on a very good sale, plus I used my Red Card (Yay Target!) ....I purchased online, went to the store, picked it up, came home, unpacked, and....
I had me an afternoon cup of coffee!! Peppermint, of course =)
This is not a Keurig. It's an I Coffee, made by Remington. We heard others liking this single cup coffee maker and are giving it a try.

Here's another picture of the lounge at Brereton Manor where Ellen works.
It's so pretty! (The fireplace wasn't going that night...only noticed it now!!)

It's looking more like Christmas here at our house too.

I tried adding lights to the greens today. The lights were old....they worked when I plugged them in, in the house. BUT, after I put them on the greens, neither strand worked!! So much for that....the lights are gone. Maybe I'll look for some new ones next week and try again.

This boy keeps me company several days a week....he keeps me busy too!!

Tomorrow afternoon is a baby shower for my daughter, Marcy. I baked some amazing GF spice cupcakes with cream cheese frosting (I'm having a hard time leaving them be. They are so good!!) and chocolate cupcakes with a cream cheese and chocolate chip filling. I've done more baking this week than I have done in years!!

That's it for today....I must finish cleaning now that these are gone.....
All week this has been bugging me but I knew it had to wait until today. I'm glad they are now in the garage :)

God Bless your weekend. I'm looking forward to worshiping with our church family tomorrow morning!

What a fun fundraiser! Your cookies look so good. I'm not a coffee drinker but we have a Keurig because my hubby is. You'll have to let us know how you like the Remington. We've been through a few Keurigs!

You have been a busy bee this week for sure. Everything looks so pretty and the cookies are great for the fundraiser. I have a Keurig and love it, so I know what it is to miss it. Glad you got a new coffee maker tho and hope you enjoy.
