We Celebrate a Birthday at Knoebles

Knoebels is an old fashioned amusement park in the northeast mountains of PA. It's truly in the sticks! The 2 hr. drive is worth it every time, it's a wonderful park. One of the best things about this park, and there are many, is not paying a premium price to get in.....you only pay for the rides you actually go on. Since I'm a 'watcher' and a 'bag/stuff holder', this is perfect for me.

Way back in January Ellen's friend, Bri, decided she wouldn't have her birthday party in January (which is when her birthday is) but would wait and celebrate in the summer. She chose to go to Knoebels!

Saturday was the day and did we ever have fun!

Back row:
Emily and Hannah. Hannah is Elizabeth's cousin. Hannah has often worked with Aaron's Acres and all the girls know her well.
Front row:
Ellen, Elizabeth, Bri, Marissa

Another group picture :)

Tea Cup ride! They loved it!

Hannah was a gem....she helped the girls get on or off a ride. Love her!

Shade was our friend!!

Ellen poses :)

Gina went too...here she is with Ellen on this crazy ride :)

That thing swings way up in the sky....way higher than this!

Of course we rode the train. I love the train!

The girls enjoyed this ride too.

Some, including Ellen and Gina, went on 2 roller coasters. Not me, not ever!!

It was a very hot and humid day. We ate very little (French fries and ice cream!) but drank lots of water. By 6:00 or so we were done and ready to head for home. Elizabeth and her family left the park earlier.

We stopped at a cute diner for something to eat....since we had driven for awhile in air conditioning and
cooled off significantly, we were really, really hungry! The food all sounded delicious....I had a Cobb salad and it was very good.

While waiting for our food, the girls gave Bri her gifts.

Emily's gift...a set of lavender and vanilla soaps and lotions. And sour patch kids, Bri's favorite!

Ellens gift: a gift card to Sweet Frog and a set of pajamas.

(E gave her gift at the park and Marissa gave her gift when they arrived home)

It was a fun day....so glad Ellen was able to get off from work to go. It's not easy for her to get off and she had several things this summer to attend.

Thanks, Bri, for inviting us! Happy Birthday!

Not a fan of the rides anymore either. Used to enjoy them but I guess she has something to do with it. Knoebels is a fun place. One time we even camped there.

Nope no ferris wheel or other amusement rides for me as well, Doris, but the train ride would be about my speed too!

It looks like everyone had fun, even the non-riders! (I would be a non-rider now too)... :)

I'm definitely a non-rider. Except that train ride looks like fun. I have never been to Knoebles. We were planning to have our family reunion there but it was changed to Tyler State Park. I'll have to check out Knoebles sometime.
