Here's what's happening

Been a while since I wrote a blogpost. Don't really have a good excuse. It's Winter and my nose is often in a book if there's a moment not needing my attention...yup, that's my excuse!

Here's what's happening- in the order as I remember it!

Let's start with today:
Our new dishwasher was to come today. Finally! It's been since Christmas Day since it broke. The delivery day kept getting moved back, I kept washing dishes by hand; my hands need to be constantly lotioned.

The guys took a look at our old dishwasher and said, You know the one that was ordered is an ADA model...that would be several inches shorter and a smaller tub. Say what?? You have got to be kidding!! Yes, the wrong one has been ordered. It was written up wrong, I guess. No one, and Christy had talked to at least 3 different managers at the store because of all the delays, and no one noticed this! So after conversations with the store and the installers talking to their boss, they installed the wrong one anyway. We will order the right one, or order another model, and someday have a correct dishwasher! Crazy, but it happens.

It reminded me of getting new carpet installed in our big newly remodeled living room at our old house. (1984) As it was being put down I kept thinking that it wasn't the correct color. I mentioned it to the guys. They looked at the order and said it was the correct one. A day or so later, I went back to the store, walked right to the sample, saw the one I wanted...it was NOT the one in my room! Told the sales lady, she just couldn't believe it but it was true. We were offered a discount because it was their mistake or they would replace it. They didn't really want to replace it and I hated to make them do it. My older and very wise sister told me that they need to replace it with the one I really wanted. So,  we got the correct one! And we lived happily with it for many years!

That was a little bunny trail :)

Noah got two teeth!

Saturday I had breakfast with these lovely ladies...
My sisters, Mary Ellen and Jeanie!

Jeanie was coming to our area for the weekend and suggested we get together for breakfast. It was delightful! I love being with my sisters so much....whether it's one, two or more!

Ellen had another job trial. This time it was a dietary position at a small Assisted Living facility close to our house.  It went very good! In fact, so good that when an upcoming position opens up, she will hopefully be offered a job! We are so proud of her.

I went to TJ Max today. I love looking at all the beautiful things in that store. I almost bought a red plaid metal lunchbox just like the one I used to have as a kid. I wanted it so bad but I put it back. So many pretties in that store that I would love to buy, if..... Oh well. Lack of $$ and no more stuff that I really don't need, it's all good!

The weather has really warmed up and the snow is disappearing in short order. It rained a little bit today too.

As I mentioned, I've been reading. I'm re-reading the Yada Yada Prayer Group series by Neta Jackson and her next series, House of Hope. I love all her books. I read via the Kindle app on my phone or tablet. My books go with me everywhere I go!

Ok, what else?

On Sunday after church Hubby and I ate lunch with Greta, Lynn and grandson Carson. Ellen went with Corey, Christy and the kids to Hershey Zoo and Chocolate World. Marcy, Scott and family joined them there. Later Hubby and I decided to find the Assisted Living facility where Ellen had worked. It's called Brereton Manor. We found it, nice small place, then drove into Columbia (haven't gone there in years!) and decided to cross the river on the old bridge! That was the only way we went to our York county cousins when I was a kid. Again, haven't been on that bridge for years. We went home (after a Frosty from Wendy's), Hubs built a fire in the fireplace and we each sat in a recliner by the fire. Just like old people! Our daughter, Kim, came over for the evening. It had been several weeks since we saw her. Delightful evening!

Wednesday night found me at JB Dawson's eating with two of my Basement Girl friends. Delightful! But we really missed the two that couldn't come. Next time, all five!

This has become long enough! That's it for today.

No, one more thing. May I recommend  to you: listen, or watch, Andy Stanley's latest sermon series. Just google his name, his church will come up (North Point), click on sermons or messages (you will figure it out), click on the top series, Tough as Nails. There are 4 messages in the series. So much truth, thought provoking, convicting.

That's all. Goodnight, my friends!

Amen to the Tough As Nails series. I just listened to the last one this afternoon. SO much food for thought, and such a tremendous way of putting things into their proper perspective.

Apparently I was not the older, wiser sister in that carpet story, because I most certainly don't remember that at all. Sounds like Janet?

I totally remember that red plaid lunchbox!!

I'm so glad it worked out for us to be together on Saturday. But it was too short. Afterward I kept thinking of things we didn't talk about, hahaha!!

Congrats to Ellen! It sounds like all of you have been busy. I know you must be dreaming of spring and enjoying coffee on the porch again. By the way, Andy Stanley's church is located in my hometown of Alpharetta Georgia! I love to listen to he and his father.
