Winter has Come, Lots of Dishwashing, Pie Face

Winter has come. No snow, but it's so cold!! It was 9 degrees here this morning. Brrr.

I'm getting to look out at this view lots more than usual...
This is the window over the kitchen sink.

On Christmas Day our dishwasher decided to quit. Yes, on Christmas Day!! There wasn't a hint that it was wearing out...it just quit. (In doing research on it, Christy found that it was a 2003 model....so I guess it was due for some trouble. They don't make them like they used to!!) So, while we wait for the replacement, I'm washing lots and lots of dishes by hand. Thankful for the lovely view :)

Christmas is now in plastic bins and cardboard boxes, stored in the attic space above the garage.

One thing has not made it there yet...
This garland is on our basement stairs. I love it and am not ready to put it away. Maybe next week!

Have you ever heard of the Pie Face game? On New Years Day, Marcy and Scott invited us to enjoy the tradition of pork, sauerkraut and mashed potatoes at their home along with the Smith family. It was a yummy meal! So special to enjoy it with the Smith's.

After dinner, Paityn wanted to play the Pie Face game. It's something ;-)!

Adults took the challenge...
Sometimes you get 'pie in the face' and sometimes you don't! Lots of laughter!!

Even the kids took the chance....
So much fun...even after the adults had enough, the kids wanted to keep going!

While I love the Christmas season, my body is ready for some slowing down on the busy.....and slowing down on the eating part too!! Along with the cleanup, I'm also doing some reading. I'm not getting around to reading blogs. I apologize. I love you bloggers so much and appreciate your friendship......will get back to reading and commenting as I can. But, right now my nose is in a book :)

God Bless your evening!

It was 12 degrees here this morning. I'm ready for Spring! Our dishwasher is suddenly getting noisy, so we may be in for trouble too.
That header pictures is seriously adorable!

I'm happy the holidays are over too. Except I decided to take on a big project , stripping the wallpaper and repainting a bedroom. One of my granddaughters got pie face for Christmas also the kids played it but none of the adults were brave enough .

It is cold here too but I am toasty warm inside! BOO HOO on the broken dishwasher! With only two of us eating here, I only run mine about once or twice a week! I know you have many more dishes with your large family! Hope the replacement comes soon! My Sister bought the pie-face game for several of our family members, they are really having fun with it:) Enjoy your day and your book:) HUGS!

Wow! That is cold! I've heard about the pie in the face game. That would be fun with the family. Sorry about the dishwasher. I never had one until 5 years ago when we remodeled the kitchen. I can't imagine not having one now. Doris, enjoy the new year with family and stay warm!!! I can't imagine those temps.

I got my first dishwasher about 5 years ago and can't imagine not having it now. Especially with my bad back which makes it difficult to stand for long. I hope yours gets repaired or replaced soon. At least you have a pretty view to look at. My sink faces a corner!

I have never heard of Pie in the Face but it looks like fun.
