Fun with Two Sisters

It was wonderful. Of course it was! Mary Ellen and I met Jeanie at a mall near her home Saturday morning. We went there because it was graduation week end at Penn State. We were concerned that traffic would be terrible in town at that time of day and wanted to avoid that. We shopped at Macy's and we each found something we liked. We don't have a Macy's where I live. Jeanie treated us to lunch at a little Italian restaurant in the mall. From there we headed to the Arboretum in State College. But first, we stopped at an orchid show we saw advertised on the way.

 Love!

View from the building we were in...
do you know what it is?
Beaver Stadium

Many of the displays at the orchid show seemed past their prime.  Ahh, but the Arboretum, now that was a whole different story. Take a look....

 A sea of beautiful tulips.

So pretty!

Mary Ellen and Jeanie decide to sit and take in the view!

 This fountain was beautiful!

The white of the tree against the blue sky...breathtaking!!

 This smells amazing!

Mary Ellen stops to snap another picture on our way out.

From there we stopped at Jeanie's favorite used furniture store. Mary Ellen and Jeanie were each in need of a small item and they both found what they needed! The store had some very nice items and for great prices too. Next, we shopped at the big Goodwill store we went to last year. I found a very nice top for $3.99. Then it was back to Jeanie's house. Yes, we were almost there when Mary Ellen reminded Jeanie (again!) that she needed her car which was still at the mall! Back to the mall =)

Jeanie had a yummy dinner prepared for us. Her daughter-in-law and grandson joined us for dinner. Her son was in Pittsburgh for a wedding. Lori couldn't go with him because she had to attend one or more graduation ceremonies at Penn State. Lori is a professor and a department head, I think. I do know she is known as Dr. Lori =)

Sunday morning we were up early. We had our coffee on Jeanie's deck. The sun was bright and warm. It was delightful! After church we had dinner at Cracker Barrel. All too soon it was time to pack up and head back home.

We roped Jeanie's hubby into snapping pictures quite often during the week end.
Here he is with his wife's phone while Mary Ellen snaps a photo.

Here we are...
me, Mary Ellen and Jeanie.
I'm the youngest of the three and the only one with silver hair.
Does that mean I have the most wisdom?? hee,hee

It was a wonderful time. We wish it could have been longer and had involved all our sisters. Since neither was possible, we were grateful for the time we had together. Of course our time involved many belly laughs, deep conversations, some tears too. That's how it is when we are all in the same space.

We are blessed.
    Love my sisters!!

Doris, as you know, Jeanie and I say you you have a pretty face, and thick hair, so gray looks beautiful on you. A fun weekend it was. Your pictures are great.

What a delightful, fun time together. You look very pretty. As for the silver hair, I tell my older brother and sister that THEY gave it to me!!

Oh what a fun time and nothing like spending time with Sisters! I had to laugh at you all leaving a car at the Mall... TOO funny:) I think your hair is beautiful, I wish I was brave enough to let mine be silver too! Keeping it colored is time consuming and expensive! Have a blessed day sweet Doris and thanks for taking me along on your trip... LOVE the flowers:)
