Lord, I need a Miracle!

Ever utter those words? I confess, I have. I've even shouted them a time or two.

I didn't shout it yesterday. I didn't even say them out loud. But the words were said in my heart. That and words of frustration, disappointment, questions as to why. Let me tell you why.

The scheduled showing of our son's home was canceled. AGAIN! I was so frustrated. I know Corey and Christy were too. We need to sell that home. Why is God so s.l.o.w. in this? Does He not hear our cries?

The worries of what will we do do when are ever present. So, I asked the Lord for something to encourage me. He answered =)

First, it was an article in Guideposts magazine. The article was called Junior Partner by Linda Neukrug. This is what caught my attention....
"I was worried about my job, my health, everything. "Hey God!" I wanted to shout. "Remember me?"

Yes, I certainly have/do feel like that at times. Her story told of a faithful God who certainly did hear her cries and answered them too.

Second, it was a phone call. A call from my friend Mildred! Oh, wow! What an answer to prayer. What an encouragement to my heart!

Third, it was a song. I had worship practice last night at church. We practiced a song called, God is in Control.

(chorus)
God is in Control.
We believe that his children
Will not be forsaken.
God is in control.
We will choose to remember
and never be shaken.
There is no power above or beside Him,
We know, O, God is in control.
O, God is in control.

(v1)
This is no time for fear.
This is the time for faith and determination.
Don't lose the vision here,
Carried away by the motion.
Hold on to all that you hide in your heart.
There is one thing that has always been true,
It holds the world together.

(v2)
History marches on
There is a bottom line drawn across the ages.
Culture can make it's plan
O, but the line never changes.
No matter how the deception may fly,
There is one thing that has always been true.
It will be true forever.

(bridge)
He has never let you down
Why start to worry now
Why start to worry now
He is still the Lord of all we see.
He is still the loving Father
Watching over you and me.

There you have it... Lord, I need a Miracle and I know you are in Control!

 Ellen, Aidan and Zoe are anxiously awaiting the coming snow. Ellen is reading all the early dismissals listed on WGAL website...even though it hasn't even started to snow here yet. Ellen's school district has an in-service day for the teachers today, that's why she's home.

I was wrong...the white stuff has begun!

Blessings to you, my friends!

Hi Doris, What awesome lyrics you have shared. I listened to the song on Youtube just now. Funny thing, I am not a phone person but yesterday I was led to make that call to you. I know that God has a perfect plan for you and your family. Love to you all.

Oh dear Doris, I know it is frustrating and I totally understand! My Daughter is buying a house close to the Private School where the kids go! It was a short sale which is certainly NOT short! She is so frustrated waiting on the bank to get their act together! She is trying to be patient BUT they also need to put their current house on the market! More frustration ahead for them too! One thing we seem to do is trust God's plan, not always WHEN we want it to work but it is in HIS time! Love to you and I will be praying for your situation! What about our Mildred feeling led to call you? God is AWESOME:) HUGS and prayers!

Ohhhh, I feel your pain!!! That first year we lived up here when everything in our lives seemed up for question, I worked on memorizing Psalm 86, and I would pray it as I walked Austin in the stroller. It was literally the cry of my heart day after day. Here are the first ten verses - that's as far as I got it memorized.

Hear, O Lord, and answer me,
for I am poor and needy.
2 Guard my life, for I am devoted to you.
You are my God; save your servant
who trusts in you.
3 Have mercy on me, O Lord,
for I call to you all day long.
4 Bring joy to your servant,
for to you, O Lord,
I lift up my soul.

5 You are forgiving and good, O Lord,
abounding in love to all who call to you.
6 Hear my prayer, O Lord;
listen to my cry for mercy.
7 In the day of my trouble I will call to you,
for you will answer me.

8 Among the gods there is none like you, O Lord;
no deeds can compare with yours.
9 All the nations you have made
will come and worship before you, O Lord;
they will bring glory to your name.
10 For you are great and do marvelous deeds;
you alone are God.

Doris, sorry to read about the cancelled showing and resulting disappointment all around. We do understand the frustration of waiting for a potential buyer. Hopefully, in due time good things will happen this year. Hope you didn't get too much snow. Our total was just a little over an inch, but it sure looked wonderful while it lasted yesterday afternoon.

We have to believe that God is not hiding something from you, but keeping it FOR you, for just the right time! Mildred and I said a prayer for your situation. God is in control...don't you love Twila Paris' song!

Good Morning sweet girl. Yes, though sometimes hidden to us I believe that God is indeed still very much in the Miracle Business. Expect one soon. XOXO Mollye

I'm trying to catch up on some posts that I've missed lately ... and what a blessing this song is...to truly know that God is in control. There's so many situations that we just have no idea what will happen, when, where, how...but it is comforting to know that He is already there for us. Thank you for posting this ... I really needed this today! God truly knew what I had to read this morning.
