Honoring a Special Lady

This morning I attend a visitation prior to a Memorial service for a special lady. Claire Wichterman , the MIL of my youngest sister Rose, passed away unexpectedly last week in Florida where she and her husband were spending time with their daughter.

Here are some special pictures of Claire taken in May when we attended our niece Katie's (her Granddaughter) wedding in GA -

Dancing with her Honey

Such a sweet couple

Caught her looking at pictures she took with her camera.

What a special lady. When my Dad was nearing the end of his life, she and her husband stopped in for a brief visit while I was sitting with Dad. Claire's Hubby had just had some sort of procedure done which they were on the way home from. Since they were coming by my parents home, Claire said they just had to stop and let them know they were in her and Bob's prayers. SO SWEET! It really meant the world to my Dad and Mary.

At the wedding in May, Claire spoke some words to me that I will never forget. She paid me a very high compliment, one that I had a hard time believing. SO SWEET!

She will be so missed. It was good to be with my sister and her family for a short time today. I know God is showing himself strong during these difficult days. Tomorrow will find them traveling back to GA again. Kindly remember them in your prayers.

I stopped at Boscov's at the mall on my way home. Decided to take a quick look at the special  occasion dresses. Just looking, I said to myself. But, I saw a dress that I liked (Greta's wedding in June) which I tried on. LOVED IT! Decided to see if it was on sale....50% off!!!! I brought it home =)

Lovely weather we are having right now. From 8 degrees to 50 something, sunny and not windy. It is awesome!

Have a great week-end!

My prayers are with your sister and family. (I'm sorry I can't paragraph this -- computer issues) I had my dress altered for my daughter's wedding. Unfortunately I didn't think to try it on until the day of the wedding. The arms were too tight. I ran home, grabbed one the same color that had just come from the drycleaners and was back for pictures in 20 minutes. Fun memories -- now!

The Memorial Service was so touching. Claire's laughter, love for people, hospitality, love for God was mentioned frequently. I still feel tearful this evening just thinking of our loss. Heaven's gain I know.

I have not had the privilege of seeing Claire in recent years, but after being at her memorial service yesterday I feel like I knew her well. What a legacy! The Wichtermans are blessed because of her.

How wonderful to find your dress so easily! I love Boscovs!
