Our Easter

Our Easter weekend was wonderful...busy, included family, church, food, candy...a soul filling wonderful!

Saturday morning Ellen had a Journey's (a ministry at our church for adults with disabilities) Easter drive through. It was wonderful!

This is Christie Hunt,
the inspiration, the love, the leader of this wonderful group.

We are so grateful for Journeys filling a need for Ellen...
Christie and the Journey's Sunday School class
was instrumental in bringing us to Manor Church.

After the drive through we went to the pavilion for crafts and a snack.
Noah wanted to go along with us and was delighted to be
able to participate in doing a craft and have a snack!

In the afternoon we went to Dale's sister's house to visit with
some Fahnestock family gathered there.
(I didn't take any pictures. Just decided to sit and enjoy!)
It was delightfully sunny enough to sit outside.
The weather was changing, though, as the day progressed.

It ended up raining and got much colder, thus a very chilly Easter Sunday!

Sunday we went to church then came home for a very busy day of fun!

After making breakfast for Ellen, I hid her Easter basket and a few more gifts for her to find.

She looked and found everything..
I didn't hide them too hard this year!

She found a pretty new top in one bag.

And an Olaf too!

Peanut Butter cups in the eggs!

And a huge PB Bunny!!

Then I needed to hide the clues for the scavenger hunt for the 3 grands
we live with.
They still love this hunt for their Easter bags ☺

Zoe reads the first clue
and they were off to find the next one!

I took a ton of pictures
but only including a few here.

They eventually found their bags on their beds!

Noah likes this clay.
They all had fun playing with it!

Zoe likes the thingie for her phone
although it didn't end up sticking very good.
(I'll need to find a real pop socket)

Noah also loved the bubbles.
Harley did too 😊

Next was an egg hunt in the very chilly cold outdoors.
Corey hid them, thank God!

It was just too cold and windy for me to be out there to the bitter end!

Zoe always lines them up...
so pretty!

Noah just checks his loot 😀

In between all the activity I put a big ham in the oven,
prepared a dish of baked corn, buttered some potatoes
and scrubbed some sweet potatoes for dinner.

Then washed fruit, made a sauce for the ham, baked the GF croissants,
warmed some rolls....

Dinner would be served as soon as Zoe returned from walking a neighbor's dog.

Noah was soooo hungry so he helped himself to a croissant!
(top pic)

Friday afternoon Zoe and I made PB eggs
and Aidan and I made coconut cream eggs.

The coconut cream was too soft which made it nearly impossible to coat!

The kids declared they are GOOD even if they are wonky 👍

Whew, was I ever worn out till evening...
But a soul filling couple of days makes it so worth it.

This coming Sunday looks like it will be nice
so we are hoping to have the whole family over that day.

We continue to visit outdoors.
Someday it won't be necessary and we are looking forward to that day.

Spring flowers make me happy!
Hoping the lilacs and hydrangeas will survive another cold night.
Sigh, they struggle so much with winter wanting to hold on!

Mid 40's and raining today.
70's coming in a few days, YAY!!

Looks like a wonderful Easter holiday at your home, Doris. Glad the traditions continued with baskets and egg hunts as we missed those this year. The grands are growing up too fast!
