Beach Trip...day 2 and 3
Saturday morning we enjoyed a breakfast of bacon and scrambled eggs then piled into Reba's van to Cape Hennlopen beach.
The water was much calmer than when we were in DE in August. That's a good thing since the beaches are not guarded after Labor Day.
A very important stop on the way back to the condo....
Our dinner and evening activities were a celebration for Nicole's birthday.
After dinner we played a State Bingo...Mother/daughter teams.
What fun!
While the girls watched a movie, the moms gathered in a small area outside the second floor bedrooms where a sofa provided comfortable seating along with pillows and a bench brought out of bedrooms. We chatted, laughed too loudly (according to the girls!) and were not nearly finished when the movie was over and time for bed! Oh what a blessed time!
Sunday was cooler, humid as all get out, and cloudy. We had breakfast (baked oatmeal with peaches. Amazing!), cleaned up, packed up all our stuff and reloaded our vehicles.
Shopping at the outlets was our last activity. I love outlet shopping! Ellen does too.... when it's shopping for her :)
And that's the last picture I took.
We can't wait for our beach trip next year! We are going back to that great condo again...it was perfect for us.

Beach Trip
Ellen and I rode with Marge and Bri. We followed 'speed demon' (our nickname for her, haha!) Reba! To her credit, Ellen and I caused a 35+ min. delay in our start time.....and we needed to arrive at the agency in Rehoboth before 5 to get the key to the condo. Reba saw to it that we did indeed arrive before 5! Maureen and daughter Emily, traveled with Reba and her daughter, Marissa. Two more moms and two more daughters joined us the next day.
The condo was perfect and SO clean! There were five bedrooms and 4 1/2 baths. Ellen and I used the third floor bedroom.
Before going out for dinner, we enjoyed the pretty surroundings.
We decided to eat at Bethany Blues....it's a favorite of ours and I'm always delighted to have friends discover it too!
After filling our bellies, we walked off our dinner on the boardwalk.
It was a beautiful evening! Our girls took off ahead of us....they enjoyed walking without their moms by their side :)
Reba posted this pic on FB with the caption, We don't get out much :)
Back to the condo.....dance to the music!
We all settled down again and watched a movie. The girls chose Princess Diaries 2. Bedtime was late! Oh well, we were on vacation and it matters not one bit!
As we climbed into bed I asked Ellen if she was having fun.....she said very enthusiastically, Oh, yes!!
More of our beach trip in the next post.
God bless your day!

A Party and some Soccer Players
Granddaughter Paityn has been 8 years old since August 28. She had a party with friends but her family party wasn't until Saturday. Sometimes schedules are like that. We enjoyed celebrating with her!
After enjoying a delicious dinner (chili, pizza, fresh veggies, fresh salsa, fresh fruit), it was time for gifts!
Aidan is cleaning up the paper by stuffing it in his shirt! Crazy kid :)
Did you see Carson joining the fun?
And something else for our girl....
We had given her an apron and chef hat a long time ago. She outgrew it...so, of course we gave her a new one! Have fun creating lots of goodies with Mommy, Paityn! Hope you can join me and your cousins in our kitchen someday soon, too!
What is it with kids and licking off the icing from the birthday candles?? I know I always liked to do it too when I was a kid!
It was a fun time. Thanks for inviting us to your party, Paityn!
Soccer has started. Three of our Grands are playing. Here's two of them in their uniforms....

Aidan plays as well but I haven't taken a picture of him yet.
We had so much rain on Saturday again. And with the rain came cooler temps. Yesterday afternoon I felt chilly as I sat on the porch. That seemed strange!!
Cooler weather and I find myself wishing for a kettle of soup or a big pot of chili! Yum!
God Bless your day, my friends!
