Ellen has a Job!

Yes, our Ellen is among the employed :)
Last Monday morning she interviewed at Keystone Goodwill in Lancaster for a custodian position. Later that day she found out that she was hired!

 Yesterday was her first day.

Oh my, it was hard for this Mama to leave her girl in the hands of people she didn't know. Ellen seemed just fine. I tried not to be too anxious the whole time she was working!!

Ellen is part of a traveling cleaning crew that goes to three Goodwill stores. Yesterday she used a backpack sweeper to vaccum floors..... While shoppers were shopping. She has experience from volunteering at a nursing home last year where she used a large sweeper and needed to be on the look-out for residents. She was tired and hungry when I picked her up!

Ellen will work three days and go to school the other two. When I asked her if she thought this job will be a good one for her, she answered "Yup"! That's so Ellen!!

My baby is all grown up.....

I aim to be almost finished shopping by days end today....I best get out there and get it done!

Merry Christmas! (I love this time of year)

Congratulations to Ellen. I'm sure that smiling face will be most welcome at Goodwill--to employees and shoppers alike.

Best,
Bonnie

Finished shopping?? I haven't even started yet, But I shop just for the children. And I won't see most of them until Sunday after Christmas, so I have time, ha!!

Best of luck to Ellen in her new job! She will certainly be meeting lots of new folks and your being nervous is understandable for this new first, but she apparently is handling it in stride.
