January is history!

I cannot lie....I'm so thrilled to see January go!!

February is a short month...whoo- hoo!!

OK, now that I have that out of the way, let me fill you in with what has been happening around here.

Last Saturday Ellen had a fun afternoon with some friends. We went to Jenn's Pottery where they each chose a piece to paint. My pictures are not the best...phone camera because my head was not connected to the rest of me again. Forgot my camera! ugh

Ellen chose to paint an ice cream bowl.

Hard at work!

Doing a great job, Ellen!

It was also Bri's birthday. We went to a nearby pizza place to celebrate. Bri didn't know we were doing this. She was so excited!!

Not a clear pic at all =(
The girls at one end of the table
and the Moms at the other.

Bri and her Mom looking at part of the gift Ellen gave her.

After eating and gift giving and fun, it was time to pay for our food.
Guess what...someone at the pizza restaurant paid the whole bill
and
left a tip!!
Oh my, we were speechless.
And very blessed.

I'm so thrilled to have Ellen be part of this group of girls.
I am also so blessed to call each of their Moms my friend.
They are a great group of women!!

Corey stopped by their Mount Joy house, the house which will be rented in 3 weeks, on Monday on his way home from work. He found a mess. A water pipe had broken in the kitchen and water, LOTS of water, was flowing over the stove, the hardwood kitchen floor, and down the basement steps. There were several feet of water in the basement because the sump pump didn't go on.

Long story short - the fire company brought some pumps to pump out the basement. Water was turned off, of course. A restoration company came the next day. They started dehumidifiers to begin the drying process. A plummer came to fix the pipe and the hot water heater. The furnace people fixed the furnace. The insurance adjuster came to access the damage. Floors and some cabinets were torn out. It's been a week!!

After the shock of it all wore off and we could think clearly again, it became a good week. Hopefully the rebuilding of their kitchen will happen soon. Amber and Gordon (the couple who are to move in) are being so gracious about it all.

On Thursday after I picked up Zoe at pre-school, I got her a PB sandwich and put on a movie. I had some bills to pay on the computer...which is upstairs. When I was done, this is what I found...

She covered herself =)

On the floor are her socks, boots, hairband
and a piece of sandwich.
How cute is that??

Today I did a good clean of the downstairs. I also took down the outside Christmas things. January is over =)

 I found some lost items....

Baby Jesus!
We couldn't find him when we put away the manger.
I found him on a ledge behind the reclining sofa....
now how in the world did he end up there??

I have been looking for this yellow composition book since August.
I got it for Ellen's birthday
but I didn't know what I did with it.
I found it buried in a basket in the kitchen.
Surely I looked there before....

I will leave you with a picture of the house we hope to call home...

Bless you today!

The crazy ups and downs of life. How sweet that someone blessed you at the pizza party, before you found out about the water damage.

Fondly,

Sure looks like Ellen and friends had a great time, Doris, and love the yellow flowers in her hair too! Zoe had the right ida on how to spend an afternoon and Pat also enjoys his naps with bis blanket. Thanks for the birthday wishes too. Sorry to read about the water damages, a real shame. Hope all is moving along well on the "new" house plans.
