A phone call changes everything!

Tuesday was my day. Well, it was going to be but a phone call changed everything.

Around 6:30 Corey called asking me if I had any plans this morning. I didn't. Christy got a call from the Byers family from church. Their baby was on it's way. She went to assist with their 3 children while Mommy gave birth at home. I quickly got dressed, ran a comb through my hair and left with my mug of coffee and an apple. I waited for my grands to waken, gave them breakfast and got them dressed. Sometime during the morning Christy called and said the baby girl was born, all went well. So happy for them! Zoe took a long nap, Aidan and I colored some pictures. I gave them lunch and we waited for Mommy to come home.

It was after 2 when Christy came home. Was I ever feeling the need for a shower, fix my hair, put my contacts in and get out of my sweats!!

Some days are like that. It's good to be flexible!

Somehow your post transported me back to how I think a "birthing" might have been in days gone by. Sort of a community stepping in. It's a pleasant thought. Glad all went well.

Best,
Bonnie

Congrats to the Byers family and their new little blessing.
I have many days where nothing I planned actually happens. As you say, it's good to be flexible!

Oh my goodness Doris, I would have done the same thing! Grandmas have to remain flexible:) I know Zoe and Aiden were happy to spend their morning with you and didn't care at all how you looked:)

Enjoy your day my friend, HUGS!
