A New Wreath

Or is it?

Well, the answer is:

Yes. And No!

Here's what this wreath was for many, many years.....

Look closely, it's hard to see. It's the best picture I could find....I have searched long enough!!

For the last several years the flowers were dropping off. It was looking very worn, to say the least.

Off to Michael's and A C Moore I went. I considered keeping it red, white and blue  but decided a change was due. Believe me, I really don't know what I'm doing. I'm not particularly crafty. But I just do it!

Nothing is glued down yet. I'm sure I'll be tweeking it for several more days!

My messy work station....
Location is great :)

Take a look at the play set.

My crazy husband worked all day yesterday to get it in place and swings and slides attached. He moved that tower all by himself!! Where there is a will, there's a way. It helps to have some crazy, too, haha!

The kids are really having a blast on it this afternoon.

There's still some hard work to be done...painting, for one. And mulching.

Blessings to you!

Nice Days for.....

• Leveling the dirt for the play set:

Our neighbor has a tractor which he used to move around some dirt for us. Corey and Christy purchased a used play set for the kids. They are excited to get it placed and all the slides and swings attached! Oh the fun to be had.

We have very nice neighbors!

• Baseball game:

Ellen had a baseball game Sunday afternoon. It was hot for the players. But for the spectators, we could sit under the trees and the breeze felt heavenly.

Several games were rained out this year which makes the season seem so short.

Granddaughter Paityn cools off with some water.

Nana and Brinley take a selfie....hey, Pop Pop got in it too!

• Porch Sitting!

It's perfect for that!

•Planting:

The Passion flower didn't do very good in the back of the house last year, so hubby planted it out front. This spot gets about the most sun as any.  Hope it grows and blooms!

I'm slowly gathering some plants for beds and pots.

Coleus do great.

Just came back from a greenhouse near us. I was pleasantly surprised with all the choices still available.

Now to figure out where all this is going!

March to July

Yes, we had March weather in May. Two weeks ago I couldn't get warm because we were not able to get out of the 50's.

Welcome, July!!
Yes, we are having 90's now....and it's still May!!

Fickle Spring! That's how it rolls around here.

Happy Memorial Day!

Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Sun and high 70's

It's going to be a beautiful day. I've been waiting for this!!

I'm on my porch, drank my breakfast smoothie and am enjoying the bird chorus. It's amazingly beautiful....my backyard and the bird's singing.

Tomorrow morning several moms will be joining me for breakfast on my porch. I'm looking forward to it!

This beauty is just outside the living room window. Love it!

Yesterday morning Zoe showed me that her tooth came out...and she got a $1 bill from the tooth fairy! (I love living with our Grands!)

Last evening when I picked up Ellen at work, Brereton Manor, their horses were out in the meadow.

Gorgeous, isn't it?
How cool is that to have horses at an assisted living facility?! Way cool!

Wishing you a blessed day!

A Sunny Day!!

We haven't had many sunny days in what seems like forever! I'm thrilled with sun and 70 today. Porch sitting is a must!

Blue skies and white puffy clouds :)

Everything is so green because we've had tons of rain. The birds are enjoying this day too....beautiful singing all over the woods.

God Bless your day!

Sister Time Pictures

Mary Ellen and I spent Saturday and part of Sunday with our sister, Jean, who lives near State College. It was a beautiful morning when we left but became cloudy and colder as we neared our destination. Rain came after we arrived and carried all our stuff into Jean's house. Nice. Except we don't stay put very long!

Jean wanted to treat us to lunch at Sowers Cafe in State College. It was pouring by then but we had umbrellas and hoods.....rain will not stop us!

What a neat place to eat! The food was fantastic, the surroundings beautiful and the company delightful.

Jean's DIL and baby grandson joined us.

There's a piano there ready to be played....after we finished eating Jean suggested we gather around the piano and sing. So we did! We sang Amazing Grace and It is Well. The staff at the cafe sang with us :) they said it made their day.

From there we went to the mall....we like to shop. And talk :)

One of the things we love to do on this weekend is visit the Arboretum. Well, this year the weather was an issue for sure. It was sunny one moment and the next it was raining. And it was COLD!! When leaving the mall, it wasn't raining so we decided to drive to the Arboretum. But by the time we got there it was raining again.

Sigh.

Next on the agenda was dinner with Jean's family at a BBQ restaurant. We drove to Anthony (Jean's son) and Lori's home before eating.

Jean and Dick visit with their son, Jeremy, who was visiting from DC. So nice that we got to be with him too :)

Austin (Anthony and Lori's son) plays basketball in the house....that has to be every little boy's dream!

Jeremy and I talk and laugh :)
(and I check up on the world as I do that...multitasking!)

We also walked around this beautiful property.

Blue skies at this moment!

We soon head up the mountain to a wonderful quaint restaurant chosen by Jeremy and Mike.

The food was fantastic!! My mouth still waters just thinking about it.

We had lots of food and we all shared :)

We were tired by the time we arrived back to Jean's home. Usually we watch a movie and eat snacks till midnight. Not this year. We must be getting old ;-)

Jean plays the piano and directs the choir at a small UM church near their home. That service starts around 8. Then they go to another UM church where she also plays the piano and leads a worship team. She's a busy lady! An early start for all of us but we got it accomplished :)

I enjoyed one of these delicious muffins for breakfast, along with coffee of course.
So good!

At the first church, the choir was singing the song, Oh Happy Day, and two alto members were missing. Our choir director sister suggested her visitors fill the vacancy. We did :)

There we are on the left acting like we do this every Sunday, haha! It was really awesome to join in. What a welcoming congregation. And we heard over and over how much they love our sister!

To the next church.....

We took time for coffee before the service started.

It was really good to worship there too. Wonderful people!

Lunch was at Jean's home with the whole gang. Dogs included :)
Molly and Watson don't mind traveling. They ride in the car in their cage. They are sweet and very friendly. (Dogs belong to Jeremy and Mike)

Soon time to say goodby.

Jeanie wanted a picture of her guests :)

All weekend, as you can clearly see, we were being completely melted by this sweet baby :)
Sweet, sweet Hunter!

Oh the weather on Sunday....
It rained.
The sun was bright at times.
There was sleet....is it really May??
It also hailed like crazy!

Crazy!!!!!

On the way back to good old Lancaster County, the skies cleared....

And we saw a rainbow on a mountain..
Was hard to get a good picture with my phone. Was really neat to see, though!

Now it's Monday. It's been a busy day with this little fella...

He's adorable and always on the move :)

*thanks to both Jean and Mary Ellen for some of the pictures. I didn't take very many and theirs certainly helped tell a more complete story!

Sister Time

Sister time is always special.
My weekend was spent with these two amazing ladies...my sisters Mary Ellen and Jean.

It was fun.....
I'll tell you more about it tomorrow!
