Another Snow Day

No school again today. What to do??? Well let me tell you, when you have been dumped on with about 30 inches of snow, you go sledding. Some of us, that is!

Yesterday the kids and their mommy went to a hill behind a church near our house. According to Christy, it was a killer! Today our back yard provided the fun.

Their cousin was having fun too...that's Ryley in the purple coat. I didn't see her go down the hill.

This fella stayed inside....

He watched from the dining room window with Pop Pop then rolled around on the floor.

He also showed Nana his new thing he does with his mouth.....
Is that not the cutest?? He is just so adorable!

School is in session tomorrow after a 2 hour delay. Time to get back to the normal routine! It's been a fun few days, though.

Good Snowy Morning!

Our marshmallow world......

It's a beautiful sunny morning!

Wind causes beautiful sculptures!
Had to take this picture through the window because...

There's a bit of snow piled on the other side of the door :)

Snow

Looks like we are getting the seasonal amount of snow all in one storm!

Last evening -
It snowed all night.

This morning -
View from the back door.

Even the porch was all snowy!
No coffee on the porch today....and not tomorrow either, haha!

Outside our windows.....I'm an inside girl. Don't care for cold!

These crazies (the kids) couldn't wait to get out in it!
Their daddy went out with them. Notice the neighbor shoveling.

It's not finished snowing yet. Hubby is using the snow blower to clear our driveway for now.....not that we are going anywhere! At least that 17+ inches is getting moved. He will work at it again several more times today.

Coming to help you, PopPop!

Stay safe and warm!

While we wait...

There's a snow storm on its way, so "they" say. Got milk, got bread, got some chocolate (!) but, could use more eggs. Guess I'll have to go to the store, maybe. I'm sure it will be packed.

In the meantime, I'll keep myself warm drinking coffee and tea.

Today it's Hazelnut coffee.

And we will enjoy this sweet Little :)

He rolls himself into a tough situation sometimes :) Wasnt minding it too badly this time. He just pounded on the side like a drum! Future drummer like his Dad, I'd say :)

Stay warm, stay dry, stay safe!
Enjoy the Winter weather!
(Yes, that is what I'm trying to tell myself...not sure it's working....)

Another Fun Weekend

Saturday -
Elizabeth and her mom planned a movie night with the girls and their moms. What fun!
We ate pizza and salad....
The girls are enjoying themselves.

The moms are enjoying themselves too. It's a toss up as to who enjoyed getting together more :) the moms had a great time talking and laughing and sharing. Love these ladies!

After eating the girls relaxed.....
Ellen made herself right at home!

And watched the movie...

The moms stayed at the dining room table and did more of what we did as we ate.....talking, laughing, sharing....Fun!

Sunday -
I snapped this picture at church.
Lynn was working the computer and two little girls thought they needed to sit on his lap. Our little Grands love their Uncle Lynn!

After church we went to our favorite Manheim place to eat, Twin Kiss. I get the chili, Dale and Ellen get hamburgers, we always get their yummy fries and end the meal with the delicious soft serve ice cream. Yum Yum!

While we were eating Lynn, Greta and Carson came and joined us....then Scott and the kids showed up.....and as we were eating our dessert, Corey and Christy and the kids walked in! A whole row of Fahnestock's at Twin Kiss :) We all love that place.

Our neighbors had a drop in that afternoon so after C&C got home we all walked down the street to their house. It was snowing just a little. What a great time we had. We wave to neighbors while they drive by but don't take a lot of time to chat. It was a delightful afternoon.

After the brief snow the sun came out.

The snow clung to the screen. Looks like lace, don't you think?

Marcy and Scott and the kids came over for the evening.

They enjoyed a game with these two.

Another great weekend is past...another week has started. Time to get moving!

It's sunny today, a good thing!

P. S. Oops, I wrote this this morning. Was going to look over it then publish after I put in a load of laundry. Oops. It's now evening (a very cold evening...like 12 degrees cold) and I've yet to get this finished! Some days are like that....oh well!

A Little Bit of Winter

Still not much happening here. Post holiday is a time to relax a little. Trying desperately to not be pulled towards busy! I'm still reading, still trying to put things away, still trying to arrange the shelves and spaces to have a pleasing appearance now that the festive and shiny accessories are packed away. I'm not one to keep it exactly the same.....I like to change it up, a lot.

Last evening we had some snow. Was the first for this Winter. Of course I was driving in it during the worst part. Not that it was horrible, for most people that is.....the snow and sleet came down with a vengeance soon after Ellen and I left her gym. The 37 degree temp quickly slid to 32. We considered pulling into a parking lot to wait a bit but Ellen was super hungry and wanted to get home. By the time we got to Marietta Ave, the road was treated and the snow had slowed and we made it safely home.

This was outside the back door last night.....not much accumulation at all. There was more in the front yard. The kids enjoyed kicking around in it before bedtime even though it was super windy and felt super cold!

This morning it's sunny and cold!

Yes, the outside Christmas decor is still in place. Should have put it away over the weekend when it was much warmer.

Today I'm cleaning. Tomorrow morning we have a meeting here for Ellen's IEP. All the agencies working with her will be represented....I'm so looking forward to it!

Got to get back to work...have a great Wednesday. It's one day closer to Spring, yay!!

Friday Ramblings

Not much going on here. It's a cloudy, foggy, drizzly day again. I'm so thankful for the few sunny days we had.....

Fog is lifting which is good.

Ellen, our 21 year old special needs daughter, is working with a job coach to find employment again. This week she worked at a discount grocery where she has been bagging groceries. It's something she was a bit hesitant to try, but is finding that she really loves it. She has two more jobs to try then the job hunt is really on. It's so good to be working with a job coach. And, so thankful for all the resources available to our special kids.

I'm in the process of changing my primary doctor. My first appointment with the new is on Monday when I have a med check and fasting blood work. I'm ok with not eating....going without caffeine is the hard part!! At least this office is just around the corner from my house....I'll have the Keurig on before I go and get my kick in short order when I get home :) A really good thing!

God Bless your day!

This baby has the right idea for a day like this....but this was taken last evening!

Winter has Come, Lots of Dishwashing, Pie Face

Winter has come. No snow, but it's so cold!! It was 9 degrees here this morning. Brrr.

I'm getting to look out at this view lots more than usual...
This is the window over the kitchen sink.

On Christmas Day our dishwasher decided to quit. Yes, on Christmas Day!! There wasn't a hint that it was wearing out...it just quit. (In doing research on it, Christy found that it was a 2003 model....so I guess it was due for some trouble. They don't make them like they used to!!) So, while we wait for the replacement, I'm washing lots and lots of dishes by hand. Thankful for the lovely view :)

Christmas is now in plastic bins and cardboard boxes, stored in the attic space above the garage.

One thing has not made it there yet...
This garland is on our basement stairs. I love it and am not ready to put it away. Maybe next week!

Have you ever heard of the Pie Face game? On New Years Day, Marcy and Scott invited us to enjoy the tradition of pork, sauerkraut and mashed potatoes at their home along with the Smith family. It was a yummy meal! So special to enjoy it with the Smith's.

After dinner, Paityn wanted to play the Pie Face game. It's something ;-)!

Adults took the challenge...
Sometimes you get 'pie in the face' and sometimes you don't! Lots of laughter!!

Even the kids took the chance....
So much fun...even after the adults had enough, the kids wanted to keep going!

While I love the Christmas season, my body is ready for some slowing down on the busy.....and slowing down on the eating part too!! Along with the cleanup, I'm also doing some reading. I'm not getting around to reading blogs. I apologize. I love you bloggers so much and appreciate your friendship......will get back to reading and commenting as I can. But, right now my nose is in a book :)

God Bless your evening!

Our New Years Eve

Happy New Year! 2016....I'm sure I will continue to write 15. Habits are hard to break.....but, bring on the new :)

Most of the family was here to bring in the new year last night. We had fun, as usual!

We ate....

Lynn made very good wings. Scott made several sauces and Lynn made their medium hot sauce. I made a huge pot of pulled chicken, Kim brought cheese balls and crackers, we had salsa, guacamole and chips, fruit.....and more. It was all so good.

Some played Star Wars Monopoly, thenMario Cart...

They had a great time!  Been a long time since this bunch played that game.

The kids watched a Star Wars movie in the loft....
They started out on the floor...then Zoe and Brinley wandered in and out....then the two older ones ended up sitting on the chair....Aidan is checking out the game going on below him!

We did a lot of laughing....
Scott tried some nasty Jelly Bellies. I think he's eating ice cream on this picture maybe to mask the taste of horrible jelly beans! We ate ice cream at 11p...crazy!!

After we rang in the new year, everyone packed up and went home; I went straight to bed!

Aidan was especially thankful to be able to party till midnight this year. Last year we were sick and all party plans were canceled. He was a very disappointed little boy!

Today we're not moving much....hubby kept the fire going and I'm as comfortable as can be right here.

Tomorrow will be the day to put Christmas away. Sad, but it needs to be done. The wonderful month of December goes way too fast. It seemed especially busy this year and I'm not sure why.

May your 2016 be filled with blessing!
