Proud Moment, Proud Mama

Seeing our Ellen live her dream is a proud moment for us. Last evening the high school age (and beyond, as our girl is) UDS cheerleaders were invited to cheer with the Donegal HS cheerleaders at their last regular season game. What a fun time for them!

These girls are happy to cheer!

All smiles!

She loves the pink bow they gave her!

They joined the DHS girls for the third quarter.

There's Ellen walking to her spot :) She loved the pink poms!!

You bet she's ready!

We were not sitting at a good spot to get clear pictures of her this year. I had to zoom so none are very clear, sadly.

Too quickly the third quarter was over...
But a group pic is a must!

This is the best program....such love and devotion to our special girls, it's Amazing!

Treats and hot chocolate after they finished....

Oh, Ellen....

That's better!

Look what was in the local newspaper this morning -

Our sweetheart didn't get in this shot, but

A proud Mama, I am!

It's Raining

It's raining but not pouring this morning. So far it's a gentle rain that calls you back to bed for a snooze :)

But, I've already had my coffee and it's time to roll. A bathroom needs cleaned for starters.

First, I will enjoy this view from my bed....cleaning will wait.

Not terribly clear since it was taken through a (dirty) window.....but,

It's SO pretty around here!!

Happy rainy Wednesday!

p.s. It is a good day for reading, though. I always have books ready and waiting on my Kindle app. Just started re-reading the Yada Yada prayer group series. Now reading book 4....Thoroughly enjoying it again :)

Soccer and Fall Pretties

A Soccer Game

A boy has a soccer game and we have a Saturday we can go see him play, finally. With so many kids on the field, how do you think we found the one that we came to see?

We looked for green socks! There he is!

He played hard and we enjoyed watching!

Daddy gives him a hair tussle as he walks off the field....good game, Aidan!
My goodness, it seems like just yesterday that we were on the sidelines watching our son, his daddy, out there on the field!!

Fall Pretties

Fall is finally becoming more evident in our woods. It was really slow in coming this year.

Our backyard.

The front yard.

Really pretty!

Last weekend and for a few days/nights in the beginning of the week, we had very cold weather. Most areas had a killing frost....but not us!

The little rose bush still has blooms.

I'll enjoy it while it lasts.....I'm sure it won't be long until Jack Frost hits here too!

God Bless your day!

Good Friends, Fun Times

Our girl Ellen has quite the social life since she stopped working evenings at Goodwill. She does activities with two groups for special needs teens and young adults.....Aaron's Acres and Shreiber Club 625. She also attended Journey's (a group for special adults held at a church near us) one time.

Last evening Club 625 sponsored a dance at Shreiber Pediatric Rehab Center. It's always fun to go there and reminisce taking Ellen at age 2 for PT.  We walk down the hall and pass rooms where she did different activities/exercises. Some she enjoyed and some she bulked at....or would not do! Anyway, back to now and the dance....

Ellen with her good friend Nicole.

While Ellen danced, we filled our water jugs at the usual place along Columbia Ave. then went next door to Columbia Diner for dinner. We have never eaten there before. The food was good and our server was so sweet and friendly. We didn't have dessert there but went down the street to Wendy's for a Frosty. Yum and cheap :) The 79 cent snack size is just enough for me!

We then went back to Shreiber to get our girl. She had a great time! All seven girls in her girlfriend group were there....pictures, of course!

Waiting for the Angel (Elizabeth) to arrive....

She's here! Everyone smile :))

It's a Mess!

Our small basement bathroom is getting a face lift. Whew, what a mess!

Hubby is hard at work spackling, sanding, painting....

Cutting holes and patching holes!
I decided that a medicine cabinet would be a good addition since storage is non existent in there.

The old mirror and the new cabinet along with all our needed stuff lines the hallway. Can't wait to have it all put back together again.

I also suggested replacing the outdated flooring. Hubby did not jump on that bandwagon ;-) Next time, maybe. I'd like to take out the tub and replace it with a glass wall shower.
Dreaming is good :)

It's a beautiful day today. Noah and I decided to enjoy some porch time.

We sat on my favorite chair. Both of us took a snooze!
I melt just looking at him....skip looking at me and feast on that precious baby face. I'm so in love with this little one!!

God Bless your day!

A Party, A Hayride, Family

Weekends are busy in this house. This past weekend involved a birthday party, a hayride, and family.

A Party

Ellen's friend, Emily, is turning 18. Her party was on Saturday afternoon. It's always wonderful to be with this group of friends and their fabulous moms.

They decorated bags with stickers.

They had so much fun and were very creative. It was easy to see their interests....each bag said "me".

We ate lunch -

The very pretty Birthday Girl!

Yummy grilled hot dogs....these girls love them!

Games -

Working together :)

Two moms join the fun.

The blindfolded friend tries to identify the 'oink'! These girls were very good at this!

Maureen prepares the next game.

They fill their containers with mini marshmallows using chopsticks!

Time for gifts!

Candy....always a hit!

Emily reads the card.

Emily LOVES dogs!

A tiny puppy!

She reads the card from Ellen

It's a puppy hooded bathrobe and puppy socks :)

Cake!

We sing:
Happy Birthday to you, Dear Emily!

Blow, Emily, blow!

Oh so good!

Dancing!

What fun!!

Posing for a group picture :)

Thank you, Emily, for inviting us to your party. We had a blast!
(Elizabeth and Terry, you were missed!)

A Hayride

Saturday evening was our church's hayride. It was cold!! I almost didn't go. Sitting by the fire is where I stayed....no hayride for me!

Roasted hot dogs over a fire....yum!

We have the nicest little grove behind our church. There's a pavilion and a fire pit...actually three fire pits. There were others that stayed behind too. I had great company!

Baking

My helpers to make a cake Sunday afternoon :). Aren't they the cutest?

Family is the Best

Family together on a Sunday evening is the norm around here.

We made soup and ate every bit of it! Of course, they ate cake, too! And ice cream! Ice cream on Sunday is a must have :)

I love my family!

God Bless your day!
