Baseball Picnic

Sunday afternoon was to be the last Challenger Baseball game. It rained a lot the day before which caused the fields to be unsuitable for games. Ellen's team already had a picnic and pool party planned after the game.....that was still on with an earlier start time due to the canceled game. It was too cool for Ellen to get into the water. She never took off her sweater!

I took so few pictures at the picnic. Here's a few when the coach was handing out the awards....

Ellen with her friends...
Taylor, Emily, and Elizabeth.

Coach T is announcing the next award...Ellen is really listening. I think she knows who he's talking about.

Yes, he was talking about her! she is cracking up....I'll show you her award soon.

Coach T congratulates her....he's standing on the diving board :)

Ellen shows off her award.

Yes, this is it! Each year she meets her goal to hit the coach with the ball! Don't worry, she doesn't have the strength to hit it hard :) she and Coach T have the cutest relationship....she acts like she doesn't like baseball and isn't happy to see him. He goes out of his way to say hello and strike up a conversation any time we see him....that's more than at games since his daughter, Elizabeth, is a good friend of Ellen's :)  Love it!

Coach T ALWAYS acts like he's finished giving out awards just before he gets to Elizabeth. The kids, including E, love it. He gives E a big hug :)

Emily got the Most Determined award....very well deserved. She started the season with a foot injury. She came even when she couldn't play.

Taylor got the Sweetest Player award. Yes she is!!

It was player, Cordell's, birthday and his Mom brought a cake.
Cordell blows out the candles!

It was a fun time. Thank you, Terry and Mike, for having us. Can't believe the season is over!

Home Again

It was a lovely vacation. The beach was wonderful! Ellen loved being so close to the boardwalk. She had ice cream every night! That's something she really enjoys at the beach.  Here's just a few pictures.....

The beach during an evening walk.

We ate breakfast at Sammy's one morning. All the other days it was cereal in the room. (fruit and veggie smoothie for me)

Wednesday evening view while we ate dinner. It was a beautiful evening!

I love the beach!

More about our vacation later. Tonight I'm a very tired vacationer....mostly because I    read till I finished my book early this morning :-)

Pictures

Shocking, isn't it? ☺ HaHa! I write that knowing this blog I write is mostly about pictures.....of my family. I'm kinda crazy about them.

These pictures have been on my camera. My wonderful son was able to get them onto the laptop so now I can share. Thrilled about that. I won't be hurt if you aren't....if you want to skip this post and wait for the next, that's fine. But there will surely be more pictures!

Ellen's Graduation -

Here she comes!

Do we look like proud parents?

Ellen with her friend Jimmy.
Jimmy is on her baseball team.

Ellen with her friend Chris.
Chris went on the school bus with her.

Sweet Carson!

Aidan's Birthday -

The kids had a blast with this big Frisbee.
I guess that's what it is!

Easter egg hunt -

They look inside the eggs......

Today I'm getting ready for a short vacation. Hubby and I are taking Ellen to the beach as a graduation gift to her. She loves the beach, as do we. I found a hotel close to the boardwalk. Ellen loves to walk the boardwalk in the evening. We aim to rest and relax!

Happy Weekend to you!

Any day at Knoebel's is a FUN day!

One of the things on our 'to do list' this summer was to go to Knoebel's amusement park. We didn't get there last year. It's about a 2 hour drive north; not too bad. The park doesn't charge admission, you pay for the rides you want, buy a booklet of tickets, or a wristband which includes all the rides. Well, most of them. This week Knoebel's had a BOGO (wristband) for Wednesday and Thursday. That works for us! We had a wonderful day at the park yesterday.

Yes, Noah went too. He did fantastic!

He hung out in the stroller most of the time.

Scott, Paityn, and Ellen enjoying a ride!

Gina and her friend, Scott, behind them.

Paityn getting swung around the corner on this ride.

Dale and Ellen :) Ellen is always willing to let someone else drive.

Ellen and Christy are very brave!

That thing gets to swinging very high!!

It rained almost all the way to the park. While there, it was cloudy most of the day. A rain shower came early afternoon.... We took cover under a pavilion and ate snacks till it ended :)

Back to the rides after the rain....
There's Paityn! I also see Ellen.

Scott, Paityn, and Ellen on the swings.

Ellen loves the ski lift ride.... Thank goodness her dad is willing to go with her!!

Another spinning ride they all seem to enjoy :)

The train! This is my only ride. I don't do spinning, fast, high. Nope.

Meandering through the woods...that's my speed :) I love this ride and it only cost me $2.50.

Ellen was the caboose :)

We took time to eat.
The food is not priced 'out of the park' at Knoebel's.

Neat spot to eat!

My girl sees a camera and she has to pose!

Zoe loved this ride!! Aidan and Paityn soon joined her. By this time in the day the lines weren't long and they could get right back on.

I didn't get a pic of the new roller coaster. I was holding Noah when some of our group went on it. It starts going up a very high track on your back then face forward on the way down. It does upside down turns......no way for me! (Remember, the train is my speed!)

At about 8:30 it started to rain again.

We headed for a food pavilion to hang out. Paityn watches it rain.

Zoe has a hot dog while waiting.

Daddy, daughter dance?

It stopped raining and we headed out for a bit more fun. Scott, Paityn, and Ellen rode a roller coaster.
Corey, Christy,  and their kids played some games and rode the carousel.

We met up for one last treat.....ice cream!

Scott also enjoys a funnel cake!

On the way out of the park....
One more game!

Ellen also decides to give it a try :)

By the generosity of the attendant, they all walked out of the park with a stuffed animal.

Happy kids!

Fun day! Full day! Late night! But....
One for the forever memory :)
