Kids, Flowers, New

Kids.

This morning Christy, Zoe, and I attended a school program at Aidan's school. They will be singing again this evening at their music and arts show.
What is cuter than a stage full of first graders performing? :)) (another group of first graders would do the same program after this one)

Here they come! Aidan is in the front row in the peachy/orange plaid shorts. He insisted on wearing shorts because he said it gets sweaty up there on stage!

It was a very cute program. The kids did a wonderful job!

We went to get smoothies afterwards. I had an iced coffee.

Such a cutie!

Her baby has gone with her all week :)

We sat outside until Zoe got too cold. It's not as warm today as it was yesterday.
We wait for Baby Boy to be born :) Hopefully SOON!

Flowers.

The pots of pansies are doing great!

New.

The For Sale sign and the blue lock box on the front door is gone. Looks like we will soon be meeting new neighbors. The kids in our house are hoping for kids in that house! There are a few teenagers in our part if this neighborhood, but not one kid. Loads of kids live on the first section of Briarwood.
*update- we see two kids bikes outside the garage.....no kids seen yet but it looks hopeful :)

Leaves....really beautiful new green leaves :)

I LOVE this season!

Enjoy today!

A Birthday Party and a Baseball Game

Saturday, April 25

Ellen and I attended a Birthday Party for Ellen's friend Elizabeth.  We had SO much fun. I just love these girls and their moms!

We ate tacos. (I was so busy chatting with the moms that I forgot to take pictures!) then the girls did Wii bowling, a favorite of Elizabeth's. After that they danced. :)

So much fun !!

Time for cake!!

This girl is happy to be 21 :)

Happy Birthday to you!

Time for gifts....

Nicole lends a helping hand.

E is thrilled with her gift from Emily.

Her mom offers help to open the box.

She looks at the bracelet....

...from Ellen! (And a gift card too, E likes to shop!)

A Vera Bradley purse from Sarenah. Oh, and flowers too :) How sweet.

Another gift card from Bri. Have fun shopping, Elizabeth!!

A blue purse....something is causing some giggles!

PB cups!! Along with the blue purse from Marissa. All the girls love PB cups!

Showing one of two journals from....

....Nicole.

There's always time for silly!

Have I said it yet?  I LOVE these girls!!

Elizabeth had a gift for her friends....

Outside for a campfire and S'mores!

We had SO much fun! Thank you, Elizabeth and your family, for inviting us.

Sunday, April 26

Challenger Baseball has begun!

Ellen connects the bat with the ball.

At first base.

Running to home plate. Go Ellen!

Every kid gets to bat in an inning. Today they played two innings. This is a fantastic sport for kids who face challenges every day of their lives.

It was a beautiful day for baseball. A bit cool but sunny with blue skies.

What's happening today....

What's happening today? Let's start with what will NOT be happening today....

Sitting here
No porch sitting today.

Because...
That's how cold it is, taken at 10:40a.
It's also breezy. Brrrr.

This was how cold it was at 7 this morning.
That's cold for the end of April. Actually, I think we've had enough days of mid 60's to 70's to think it should always be so :). At least we didn't have snow here as other areas in PA had.

So, what's happening today?
Exciting stuff like:
Doing laundry.
Sweeping floors.
A HAIRCUT!! Yeah! Time to tame this mop.

Hope your day includes some exciting events as well. Some things we have to do are mundane at best. And they never are finished....oh well, I will bloom where I am planted. I will be intentional about finding JOY in all things!

God Bless your day!

I Love the Color Green

Really, I do. It's been my favorite color for as long as I can remember.
I also love the season of Spring. Maybe my favorite color has something to do with that....

Love this shade of green!

My world is changing!

Beautiful!

So while the temps are like this....

I'll take advantage of this....
Enjoying my second cup of coffee on the porch :)

The wind is picking up and with it will come cooler temps. We are expected to have a few days in the low 50's. (At least I think that's what I heard... I don't pay that much attention anymore!)

But for today, at this moment anyway, I'm going to breath some fresh air and enjoy it.

Then I'll sneeze! That comes with it :)

Happy Wednesday!

Baby Shower

Baby Shower for my DIL, Christy, held Sunday Afternoon -

Before the guests arrive, Christy sees the surprise element her friend Amber provided for the shower. Here's a closer look....

Kidney shaped cookies....with or without stones!! SO funny! Christy's one kidney has been defining this pregnancy. Where do you find a kidney shaped cookie cutter, you may ask. Amazon, of course. Who knew?

Niki, Amber's sister, made this.
It's goes in a picture frame but the frame was used for hanging little whales on which the guests wrote sentiments for Christy. What a cute idea!

Niki is SO talented! What a treasure for the Mommy.

Guests arrive. Thank God for this big room and our open kitchen...it was filled with guests!

Baby Carson and Baby Judah. Sweet little boys who will surely grow up to be great friends =)

After visiting and snacking on some yummy food, it was time to open the gifts. Zoe could hardly wait for this part!

She holds it high for everyone to see :)

Ryley wants to help the guests see the cute baby stuff too =)

It's a cute diaper bag from me. Mommy needs cute, I think :)

Now it's the BIG gift! From Christy's parents, a wonderful upholstered glider rocker chair. After all this girl has been through before this baby is born, she deserves some comfort when nursing the baby after!

After gifts were opened, it was time for cake and ice cream.

I was told the cake was very good....it was chocolate with raspberry filling. (Ordered from Country Table bakery) I had a gluten free cupcake instead.

Now for some random pics of our fun afternoon....

Christy's sister, Lisa, holding Carson.

Christy surrounded by her family...
L-R: SIL Katie, sisters Lisa, Donna, Laura, and her mom, Karen.

Her brother, Ralph, joins them :)

Ralph is such a hoot...he said, it's a miracle! meaning his 'baby bump'!!

These three were trying to get a selfie.... And almost went overboard :))

It looks like a baby is going to live here......really soon!!

Zoe and then cousin Ainsley used this car seat. (brother Aidan thinks it's too purple for a boy!!)

Borrowed from Carson.

This swing was a gift from the shower, given by Christy's friend, Leslie.

So happy for our son and his family to welcome another child. So happy for me, too. We live with them :)) Super excited!!
