Clean Up, Clean Out!

I have been working on cleaning out the filing cabinet.....last week!

Today I'm cleaning out a drawer in the desk we had in the computer room, now a play room.

Oh my. I keep coming across wonderful memories. I would scan some to show you but I can't seem to be able to get it to work. So.....

I had to take pictures.....

Can't get enough of the kid's artwork
or writings.

I intend to have a wall of artwork in our new home, somewhere!

I may never finish this job because I must look at everything.... and remember!

***********************************************************

Settlement on our future home has been delayed. It's ok....we can wait. Wasn't anything on our part which is causing the delay. That's a good thing.

Bless you today. Stay warm. It's another day closer to Spring!!
[clean up, clean out is waiting for me  ♥]

Zoe is 4!

Yes, Zoe is four years old. I remember the morning she was born. I was at work. Corey called me - they were expecting Zoe Rose to arrive sometime that day. I went to the office across the hall to let my friends know we were going to have a baby today, came back to my office to soon learn Zoe had arrived!! I had. to. work. the. entire. day. before going to see her. Oh, that was soooo hard!!

We baked a cake for her 4th....

She measured, she poured...
she watched the mixer do it's job.
Then, the hard part...
Waiting, Waiting, Waiting....

She took a rest. She wanted me to hold her while she rested.
Who could refuse that??
I rested too.

It was finally time to decorate the cake.
She requested a smiley face
and a 4.

We did our best.
Aidan and Zoe threw on some sprinkles.

There you have it...
a cake for a sweet 4 yr. old ♥

Candles...

We sing and Zoe blows out the candles.

Her face says it all ♥

Happy Birthday, Zoe!

This is what greeted us this morning....

more white stuff...
and soooo cold.

It wasn't much snow.
BUT...
Christy insisted she drive Gina to work.
I was sure I'd be ok but she insisted.
When she came back home,
she told me it was snowing like crazy closer to Lancaster.
The roads were icy.
She told me there was a reason
(unknown to us at the time)
why she insisted she do the driving today.
I do not like to drive in those conditions.
Ever.
Thank you, Christy!!

Here comes the sun!

Bless you today!

Whew!

Whew, was this ever a busy week end! I know, most of ours are =)

Saturday -
Ellen had her second activity with the group of girls she does Aaron's Acres activities, Challenger Baseball and Challenger Cheering with. We They went bowling. I forgot my camera =(  Pictures are not good because, well, you know...

Nicole, Ellen and Sarenah
on one team.

Oh, Ellen!

Emily, Elizabeth, Marissa, and Briahana...
oops, where's Bri??...
on the other team.

While the girls bowled,
the moms chatted and made plans for future activities.

Gettin' ready to do her stuff =)

There it goes....

She looks pleased!

They had a very good time. Ellen and I made a few stops on the way home, then...
I crashed! Why I was so worn out, I do not know. I just felt completely finished!

Sunday -
Ah, Sunday. Another big day. Corey and I needed to be at church early because he was playing drums and I was singing with the Worship Team. Practice is always a must. What wonderful worship and service we had! After church we had lunch at Manheim Twin Kiss (again! we went there last Sunday too. Love that little restaurant!), went home to wrap a gift and gather some items, then it was back to church for....
 a Party!

Zoe's 4th Birthday Party!
Aunt Greta wishes her a Happy Birthday...
(Zoe's birthday is tomorrow, Feb. 24)

She had a blast opening her gifts!

Brother Aidan helps.
What could be in this one??

Amber and Nikki know...
they have provided Aidan and Zoe with a few musical gifts over the years.
It was a ukulele!
and I can't believe I don't have a pic of it!

Aww, what a cute Hello Kitty rolling bag!

A puzzle in a lunchbox from Nana, Pop Pop and Ellen =)

A cute dress from Aunt Gina.

Sunglasses from Aidan.

Time for cake!

It's an Ice Cream Pizza Cookie cake
from Maggie Moo's =)
How cute!!

Happy Birthday to you!

She blows out all the candles!
Yeah!

Do you think maybe these kids want a slice of that??

It was soooo good!

Some of Zoe's cousins enjoying cake and being together ♥

The party was great fun. Again, after we got home, I felt DONE! Good grief, I wasn't even involved in the planning...why was I so tired?? Beats me!

Ellen got her new glasses! I didn't get a very good pic of her, but here they are....

She really looks good in them!

She still really wants this pair....

Maybe later this year, Sweetie!

Saturday was a beautifully warm day. I just could not resist...

Spring wreath went up on the kitchen door =)
I am so anxious for the warmer weather to stay.
It's too soon...
back to freezing again this week.

At least the warmer temps melted all the ice on our driveway!
We lost several inches of snow too.
I'm OK with that!

Bless you today!

Sunshine and warmer temps =)

We've had some warmer weather. The sun peeked out Wednesday and yesterday.

Here comes the sun.... =)

Above freezing temps (in the 40's which feels heavenly!!)...
Sunshine......
Melting snow and ice......
Equals  lots of slop!!

Today it's foggy, drizzling, damp, colder. Maybe it just feels colder because the sun can't get through those thick clouds. Cold will be with us again next week. And, maybe some snow. Oh no! I hope it's just a little (or none), not enough to cancel school. Ellen and Aidan are now at June 17 for the last day of school.

Zoe finally had a day of pre-school yesterday. They had their Valentine's party. She was so anxious to see what was inside her bag after we came home.

Valentine's from friends are so much fun!

Aidan had his party on Tuesday. Yesterday they had their 100 day celebration...it took a long time to reach 100 days of school this year!!

Gina and I did some shopping on Wednesday. At Walmart, I briefly looked at the curling irons and told her I'll need a new one sometime. Well, I should have gotten one...yesterday I was smelling something funny in the bathroom...it was my curling iron. It was smoking like crazy....not from the plug but the barrel. I guess it no longer knew when it was hot enough and just kept on getting hotter. Oh dear, can you imagine what that thing might have done to my hair had I been using it??

I have not been a very good blogger lately. I read your posts when I can, often on my phone. But I don't like writing a comment from my phone. Many times I do something - what I do I have no clue - and it doesn't post. [sigh] So, I need to comment from the desktop computer which is upstairs. I just don't get there very often. I thought about getting an iPad. But we really need a full size laptop too. We will be getting a household laptop sometime. (it's just too crazy a time for our computer wiz to make decisions like that right now) I've been researching different Kindle Fire tablets. I think that would be fine for me...I read books and magazines; and seeing FB and blog posts would be easier than on my phone; I like to save recipes and cook from those recipes.Using my phone is tiring for that. Anyone have a particular Kindle Fire they love? I'd like to hear what you have to say!

Bless you all! Enjoy your Friday...it's another day closer to Spring!!

Random

Here's what's happening...

  • Have I ever taken a lot of snow pictures this winter!! I was looking back through Picasa recently. Yes, there's a bunch of white.
  • Here are some snow pictures from last week ;-)

We've had so much snow on so many days...I don't remember one from another! More to come tonight. AHHHHHHH!
  • Saturday afternoon Corey and the kids had fun in the snow. They went sledding and dug a tunnel....
It was such a pretty day,
but cold!

Fun!

  • Remember the piece of pottery Ellen painted several weeks ago?
Isn't it pretty?

  • Zoe falls asleep in some dreadful positions!

How in the world can that be comfortable??

That's more like it!!

  • Today is a holiday. No school even though the weather was PERFECT!! We got in 2 full days last week and a late start day. Anyway, we needed to take Gina to work. The kids wanted to go into the mall to see Mommy who was also working. Mommy got them a treat =) They ate it while Ellen picked out a new pair of glasses at ModernEyes, where Mommy (Christy) works..

 Yummy treat!!

Ellen found a wonderful pair of glasses. Not sure when they will be ready...can't wait!
Next stop at the mall was a haircut for Ellen.

Watching =)

  • Dale is at Corey and Christy's Mount Joy house today. The new hardwoods are being installed!! Rebuilding  (needed due to the burst water pipe and flooding) has started =) The renters move in on Saturday, yeah!
  • We have one more inspection to be completed at the house we hope to call home. It was scheduled for, you guessed it, tomorrow. It's going to snow several inches, again, and it will be rescheduled, again. Ugh.
  • My baby sister (who lives in GA) became a Grandma for the first time just about an hour ago! We already saw pictures of little Elijah David. Congratulations to the Wichterman's!
Blessings to you on this Monday evening. It's cold here in PA. I'm going to make a cup of decaf, grab a blanket and watch some Olympic's. Wanna join me?

Pictures - snow, beach, kitchen

A few pictures taken from inside the house!

Blowing snow!

This bush has taken a beating...
guess we will see it it keeps ticking this spring =)

That's the drift outside the doors to the deck.

Dale has been clearing snow with his boss at Brookshire (an over 55 community) since early this morning. The rest of us are home. No school, no work (Corey has his computer, he has worked). It's a lazy day!

As of now it has stopped snowing which gives the road crews time to clear the roads. Our roads look pretty good. The snow is not finished, so they say. More is on it's way. Hard to say how much we've had because of the blowing. At least 9 inches, probably more.

************************************************************

Ah, this is where I hope to be again. No plans made, but surely we will find
ourselves there sometime this year!
I feel the sand in my toes. I feel the warm breeze. I hear the surf. Ahhh.

****************************************************************

Here's a sneak peek of the kitchen in the house we hope to call home....

I know...
NICE!!

I have not been to the house but once. Hope to get there again before closing; but if not, it will be a lot easier to just pop in after it's ours =)

Blessings to you this snowy day. Each day brings us closer to spring. That's a happy thought for me ♥
